How do I leverage current Rolodex?

I’ll keep it short and simple. Upcoming freshman at a semi/regional target school planning on breaking into IB. Have few family friends in that type of space. One is VP in Bains life science sector, one ex principal at Bain PE who moved to an investment group recently, & one ex ED at JPM t&t. It’d be awesome to be apart of bains PiPE pathway, but might aswell buy a fucking jackpot lottery ticket while I’m at it if I think I’m hot shit like that… Don’t rlly see a mega-fund gig in my future which leads me to my question. I will ask people IRL but I also want to hear from Reddit.

How transferable is PE client-side leverage when trying to break into different investment banks?

If senior PE client drops an undergraduate resume directly to a banking MD, does it usually guarantee a first round interview slot?

What’s the best warm contacting approach to maximize senior PE connections for IB recruiting without sounding like a desperate transactional freshman?

Pls fix, thx

College dropout friend(s) falling for AT&T sales bait

IDM doxxing myself because I’m in uni out of state and won’t go back home, but me and my friends are from the Atlanta/Gwinnett area. One of them specifically got dragged into AT&T sales because his other friends that are closer with are telling him to join because they’re making “good money”. I’ll call my friend John. John is 21(he’s really 19ish but he’s from Africa and his parents never had a certificate so they just put 06/04) He has around 3 similar age friends doing d2d sales in Atlanta for a 3rd party company and the other friend is doing att activation. The company they all work under is ran by a couple young yet more experienced folks who are now planning on going to the Palm Beach Florida area to open up a location and start selling. The owners were gassing them up saying they’re natural sellers and that the area they’re moving to is “untouched”… They specifically told these kids “We’re expanding, opening a new office, and we need leaders like you to help.” Yeah… because they’re gullible donuts… All of them, including John, will be moving into a rented home together for 2 months then they have to find their own apartments. John has absolute tunnel vision because he’s saying this is his new start to life, will probably never come back to Georgia, and wants to “run it up” with att. He’s going to start sales in atl in a couple weeks but will switch to att activation once in Florida (moving circa August 2026). Infact, his other buddies just went to palm beach to “test” the area (not sure how that went) but all I saw was them posting on ig having fun in Miami. There’s so much more to this and I just got dumped all this information by him in the span of 2 days so excuse how confusing this timeline may sound. AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, John wants to do att activation, INSURANCE SALES, and fucking Daytrading- all while in Miami. The 3 most lowlife highschool dropout jobs oat. Insurance sales came out of nowhere because one of John’s friends apparently makes 10k/m doing it. If you have any insight on what I should tell him please let me know. He’s very young and immature so it’ll probably go through one ear and out the other, but I just want to warn him because there’s so many red flags that he just couldn’t care less about.

Most efficient way to comb out locs

It’s about that time folks… I secured a huge internship not too long ago for summer 2027, so with this highly anticipated accomplishment I think it’s time to get rid of the locs I’ve had for almost 4 years. I’ll take any advice on the best ways to knock em out. I’m also tender headed so this will be a very interesting process.

Expressing Jewishness in College App

I may be a bit dramatic and/or overreacting, but has anybody else had conflicting thoughts about expressing being Jewish in their college application essay? I’ll be applying to transfer to some notable universities like Marshall, Umich Ross, Uchicago, Haas, Cornell etc next year and it hit me where I thought, “What are the chances I get rejected solely because of my background?” I’m not making any excuses — I’m a 4.0 college student, rigorous courses completed with A’s, internships, a plethora of leadership EC’s, but I’d never know if me stating being Jewish is the reason I get rejected because they obviously would never say that in the letter. I also know it’s not necessary, but I’m just extremely proud of my culture. Considering the on campus antisemitism that gets shoved under the rug by school boards, I feel like this isn’t a reach. Let me know your thoughts. 😊
