[OC] Found this in the greenest place in the country

Even after seeing the literal creations of god (ooty), hamare yaha ke logo ko bas plastic phekna aata hai, these people cant walk 2m to a goddamn dustbin, we have very few treasures like this left in India, lets not destroy that atleast. 🙏

advice to juniors

heyya, so I just wanted to give some advice, had I gotten the same advice few months ago the trajectory of my jee advanced would have been so much more different. (99.2 mains, adv 20k+) I'm gonna yap a lot so save some time and read it carefully.

  1. First of all, do not underestimate yourself. I know it sounds like a very cliche sugarcoat advice but please don't underestimate yourself, this was my biggest mistake. The whole of 11th and 12th I kept telling myself that I am not good enough, before anyone else could tell me that, I told it to myself almost 10 times everyday in the span of 10 minutes lol. Looking back, I was definitely competent enough to score 180+ in adv and 2k crl or who knows even lower. I know there must be super smart guys in your batch that make you question yourself, and bhai mock scores dekhe sirf galtiyo se seekho, kudh ko judge mat karna please. (mera kudh ka 120 hi ata tha almost har mock mein) A mock test is just to make sure you never do those same mistakes again and to improve in the weak topics and not to judge yourself or other people dawg 😭😭 Since I underestimated myself so goddamn much I was literally afraid of the jee adv parts of the module, I already assumed I had lost lol. You might be IIT material and you dont even know it yet, practice difficult questions and learn, thats how you become better, stop pleasing yourself by solving easy-medium questions always and giving yourself fake confidence, its ok if you cant even solve 1 in 5 tough questions, learn how to do those 5 tough questions and make sure if you ever get a familiar question, you should be able to do it.

  2. JEE Advanced is not that tough to crack if you genuinely study. People hype this exam so much that it feels impossible to crack, but its really not all that 😭😭

Aasan hai agar tum acche se padhai kro bhai, mere batch mein kitne saare avg IQ wale logo ne phod diya. Stop telling yourself that this is a tough exam, give it your all obviously but dont hype the exam in your mind thinking its extremely difficult, its fairly easy to crack, almost 100 marks in the paper is mains level, and yes I am being for real, work extra hard for the other 100 thats all.

  1. Dont switch to mains level prep from now itself even if you think youre cooked, the right time to completely switch to mains is November, abhi ke liye advanced level tak padhai kro. Also there were many kids in my batch who used to score much more than me but actual mains mai I got better than them, just telling you so that you know that mock tests dont mean shit.

NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE

After mains in january, you will be burnout asf regardless of your result. Take a week long break and start grinding for advanced if you're sure you're gonna qualify. Please start studying for advanced after your mains, you won't imagine how burnout everyone gets after jan mains but you have to push, you have to make sure you dont lose your momentum. Had I not been lazy and actually grinded in the last 3 months I wouldnt be crying myself to sleep over my advanced results. Whether you've done good or not, move on from it and grind for advanced, genuinely. Jan mains is not the end. It is just the beginning. Join a library or go to your coaching if you dont feel like studying at home, do not getting addicted to youtube in that period (I gave in to all my distractions that I had kept away for 2 years) I know people who did worse than me in mains and much better than me in adv, so yes, you have to grind, regardless of the result.

Also, 99% is not enough lol. I'm sorry I know I shouldnt be saying this but you are not going to get anything good at this percentile if you are a general male or even female for that matter. Coachings just hype it up for absolutely no reason, I am not getting any top tier NITs ka ece or even eee for that matter. Your goal has to be 99.7 or more for decent branches, not saying this to demotivate you, telling you so that you know that you have to work even harder from now.

Also friend group really matters, I was grateful I bad very academic oriented friend group who also did a lot of bakloli together, healthy competition is equally important. Dont isolate yourself if youre low, talk to your friends and dont just talk about acads :)

Bonus advice: Guys, Chemistry is an absolute life saver. I didnt like it one bit but saare exams mai chemistry ne hi bacha liya. I believe if you study chemistry properly, you can easily score 80+/100 in mains and in jee advanced, chemistry can carry you, if you study well, all my advanced mocks chemistry would carry because its a low effort high yield subject. Dont obsess over math and physics like I did for advanced, aakhri mein chemistry hi bhagwaan hai lol.

Okay yapped too much, get back to studying gngs, mer tarah downfall aur kisi ka nahi hona chahiye, roz padhai kro par stress mat lo. Good luck kids.

heyy seniors! need some advice

So I did well in mains (not good enough for IIITH/B) but kind of screwed up advanced, dont really want to go for bits due to fees.

I'll be getting NIT Suratkal - ECE/EEE

I wanted to ask how is the experience for NITK. Usually people on reddit are very bitter about NIT's, I don't know if it's actually true or is the judgement clouded. I wanted an honest opinion about college life, hostel and academics in NITK and is it going to be worth it? Anyone not from NITK too please give your opinion about your NIT.

I know NIT has reservation but is the peer group friendly and academically strong, do they participate in events actively and how are the professors there, please spare no detail, you'll help a kid out seniors!
