Green Jumping Spider - SE QLD
Mopsus mormon, Australia’s biggest species of jumping spider.
Was lucky enough to spot the biggest jumping spider I’ve ever seen in my life just chilling in a tree on my street. Also super gravid, because, of course.

I’ve recently moved to Ipswich from Brisbane. I’d like to apply for an AIN role with West Moreton Health and I’d love any insights and wisdom from those in the know.
The job ad is a rolling recruiting ad that states applications are assessed monthly, so I’d like to put my best foot forward and would love some advice and wisdom.
About me: I’ve worked as a PSW for clients with high care needs and spinal cord injuries, and as an agency AIN in private hospitals, though it’s been about five years since I’ve worked in the industry.
- how are the current staffing levels and need for new AINs?
- How’s the recruiting process?
- how is the culture and workload in the hospital?
- What qualities make good Ain @ a busy QLD health hospital like Ipswich?
- best coffee on or near campus?
I’ve visited a friend there a few times, and had an iron infusion there - the staff have all been kick ass. Thanks!
A video of how I encourage Hoggle, my very handsome king pigeon, to bathe.
I uploaded it to YT cos it was too long to spam my boyfie and everyone else I know directly with his cuteness via messenger/text etc. It’s long but it features fluffy bird butt closeups, splashy cuteness and might be helpful if you’re wondering how to get your bird into bathing more.
Question for you all: How often does your pigeon bathe?
Hoggle always has access to his bath (it’s usually in the same spot on the floor and always full), but he only seems to want a bath about once a week.
I’m an experienced bird owner, but Hoggle is my first Pigeon and we’re still settling him in to his new home with us so your wisdom and suggestions are very welcome.
