Short Curly Men’s Haircuts - suggestions

I am sure this gets posted often, but would appreciate any suggestions on places that are reliable for a good haircut. The hair in question: short and curly (men’s cut). Looking for sub $50. Typically don’t like going to barbers (gay boy here who doesn’t know how to converse with straight men).

ANY SUGGESTIONS PLZ?

Lethargic Honey Gourami

I have 2 honey gourami in this tank, and one of them (shown) has been lethargic since yesterday. Not swimming or foraging like the other HG, hanging out at the bottom of the tank or resting on the driftwood. It did perk up for a bit when I fed them and I believe it ate a bit. Water parameters look normal, did a 30% water change anyway.

This is my first HG, so curious if this is normal behavior and it’s just extra tired today? They are both usually very active, come up to the top when I’m by the tank, foraging for snail eggs/baby shrimp.

Should I do anything? Salt bath?

Handshake dot Com

Has anyone ever had any luck getting a job or internship on Handshake.com? I always get emails from there and I have looked at the website but all the listings seem to be for AI training or the listings are very old. Is it worth to set up an account?

Honey Gourami - black spot?

Hi all,
My honey randomly, as of yesterday, developed this black spot on his side. It is just a single spot and it looks like it’s a scale that had turned black. Is this any cause for concern? Acting and eating normally. The other honey I have in the tank has no spot and also behaving normally. Is this just a sign that it’s maturing?

MOMA Internship

Hi all!
I recently interviewed for and accepted an internship at the MOMA and it had me wondering what others who have interned there gained from the experience (connections? skills? Etc). I am also interested in what your career progression looked like after the fact. Would this apply to anyone? My DM’s are open to anyone willing to share but don’t want to comment.

For more context, I am a non traditional student wrapping up my undergraduate studies with around a decades worth of admin/hospitality experience in an unrelated field. I am interested in going into registrar work eventually. I understand I will probably need a masters degree, which I plan on pursuing. If anyone would like to share their experience with me either about grad school, a career in the arts, or anything else, I am so open to dming!

Thank you.

Arts Management and Leadership Certificate

Hi -
Is anyone working towards the Arts Management and Leadership Certificate? I sent in my application a few weeks ago and haven’t heard back and I’m looking to get a sense if the classes required for it are manageable. Thanks!

New Tank from Old Tank?

Hi all, I have an established tank that I set up almost a year ago. It’s a 5.5 gallon tank and I have a bunch of shrimp in it. This was my first ever tank and when setting up I kinda just threw in whatever type of plant I found, with no planning or vision in mind. Now that I know the ropes and what type of plants I like, I was hoping to restart it and only use items currently in the tank. The purpose of this would be to rearrange the plants, drift wood, water pump and heater.

A few questions for the experts:

  1. This would be a project that takes me a few hours. If I took all the plants and shrimp and tossed them in a bucket with dechlorinated water, would they be fine?
  2. I want to completely tear out the tank. If I were to replace the soil but keep the majority of gravel (I would top it off with half an inch of sand) would I need to cycle the tank again? I have a piece of drift wood in there u would reuse.

I appreciate any advice! Attaching pictures of said tank.

What’s eating my plants?

I have a tank with some dwarf and Valisneria. I only have some platies and cherry shrimp and your assortment of pest snails. I have another tank with just shrimp and the same snails. No issue in the other tank with the plants. I keep findings chewed up pieces of the Val in the main tank and have no clue what could be eating it. I noticed the snail in the first slide and it stood out to me because of its ears. I’m used to seeing snails like the second slide (thin ears). Could the plant eating culprit be the odd snail? Can anyone ID it?

Can someone explain beneficial bacteria to me like I’m 5?

Hi,
I understand the importance of cycling a tank, I understand that the BB live on the surface of items in the tank, not in the water column, etc.

I guess my question is more the following: If I’m setting up a new filter less tank but place a seeded filter from an established tank in the new one, how does the bacteria grow on the gravel/sand if the seeded filter is floating and not touching the gravel? Does it move through the water column?

And a follow up question: in my case, instead of using a seeded filter, I used a bunch of floating plants (Salvinia) from my old tank, as someone on here told me that BB love to grow in its roots. How many floating plants should I put in the new tank? Is a few enough to jumpstart the tank or does it have to be a substantial amount?

Took and edible and …. Having thoughts.

Thank yewww.

Bagged Plants, how do I keep healthy?

Hi, I got a baggies of plants I want to plant into a new tank. There was a delay (1 or 2 days, tbd) in the delivery of my soil so now I have to wait to plant them. Aside from the new tank, I have an established smaller tank. Should I use tank water in the bag and leave them in there? Or should I just plop them in the established tank to float (I don’t want to root them for 2 days then take them out again, it would make a mess.) It is Valisneria and idk what else the guy gave me. Any suggestions?
