Looking for Jeweler for Custom Engagement/Wedding Rings

Hello everyone,

I am looking to work with a jeweler to design custom engagement (and someday wedding) rings for my girlfriend and myself. I am hoping to find someone relatively close to Watertown, although I am certainly willing to drive for something important like this.

I have a stone from my grandmother's old ring that I am hoping to reuse, but I am looking to work with the Jeweler on designs and the best ways to incorporate the stone, etc. Does anyone have any local recommendations?

Headlights are WAY too Bright

Hi folks, I just got a used 2024 CX-30 premium a week and a half ago and have been really enjoying the car. However, I just took it out night driving for the first time and have a problem - the default headlights it came with are WAY too bright. I had the regular headlights on (not high beams, I checked) and I had multiple oncoming drivers pull over, slow down, or flash their high beams at me. Over the course of about an hour of backroads driving, like a half dozen people did this. I don't want to be a jerk, so I would like to see what I can do about it.

Is there any way to reduce headlight brightness using the car itself? Or do I need to see about installing less bright bulbs?

How much does it matter how you hold the pen?

For my entire life, I have held pens with my thumb, third finger, and fourth finger. My index finger will just barely brush the pen but doesn't really do anything. My handwriting is also quite bad. I have recently wondered about improving my handwriting - if I am going through the effort to consciously improve my handwriting, is it worth re-learning to hold a pen like the other 98% of the population?

Is DIU Better with House Rules for the Card Row?

See title. I have played Dune Uprising about a dozen times with my gaming group, and generally like it a lot. Our biggest complaint is that it feels like a lot of the 1-3 cost cards you can purchase are pretty weak - the row will usually stall with some mediocre cards in it, and nobody will want to purchase more than 1 per round so that part of the game mostly goes away. This is because we have all realized that adding more than a couple cards to your deck is bad play that will hurt you in the long run.

I have heard two house rules to fix this - one is everyone gets to wipe the row 1x/game, which is a nice simple solution. The other is that players can replace cards in their starting deck with 1 cost cards with the same access symbols, although that seems a bit clunky and wouldn't really work with something like unswerving loyalty.

I'd like to try a house rule to move cards more quickly, but I'd like to ask the opinion of others who have tried it. Does the game get too fast and unpredictable if everyone gets more powerful cards in their deck?

For reference, I have the bloodlines expansion and usually play with just the sardukar commander module.

Architects of the West Kingdom - Wow!

I know I am about a decade late to this party, but I just played the game for the first time. Wow! What a breath of fresh air. The mechanics of worker stacking, worker capturing, honor, and debt all played so beautifully together that even though I didn't start with a very concrete idea of what was going on, I was able to intuit how all the different mechanics would play together because the theming was just that good.

So many board games have you just "building stuff to get a good reputation, I guess" and here we have a game that actually dug deeper into that idea and nailed it.

There's no real point to this post other than to say that the game slaps and I can't wait to play it again. If you like really well polished worker placement games, you should go check it out too!
