Feedback on Writing Task 2 IELTS Academic

Hello! I would be grateful if somebody could grade my essay. I used Gemini to grade it and it suggested a band of 7.5. Please excuse some typos.

Many believe that modern technology has brought people together, but others say that it has driven us apart.

Discuss both viewpoints and give your own opinion.

Answer:

There is a strong belief by some that technology in the 21st century has helped foster closer relationships than before. Some argue that it has done the opposite, dividing us even more. Both sides are based on valid reasoning, displaying the vast number of experiences on the internet. Personally, I believe that technology globalized communication and brought the world closer, but it has inevitably hurt the social aspect of human connections.

Technology innovations and improved infrastructure has shrunk the planet into the size of a smart device. The invention of the internet together with home computers allowed anyone to communicate, share and receive information. Families brought closer through video chat, couples created from online chat rooms, meetings attended in the comfort of our living room are undoubtedly some of the biggest achievements of the modern world. The recent pandemic that isolated the whole world is a prime example of our reliance on technology and the effect it had in retaining social contacts.

On the other hand, the device found in everyone's pocket together with social media have transformed what we call social contact. The addicting nature of phones and in particular algorithms have caused many to raise concerns over our deteriorating mental health. Cyber-bullying and social media that rewards negative emotions and behaviour help fuel racism and extremism. The rise of far-right and far-left political parties is a clear proof of how effective online propaganda is.

In conclusion, technology has had an incredible impact in how we communicate and socialize. While its benefits are undeniable, to me there is a distinguishable crack in our relationships with each-other.

Thanks in advance!

Big toenails yellow and not growing

One of the big toenails started turning yellow and weird around 2 to 3 years ago and has stayed like that. Around a month ago or so, the other big toenail experienced the same thing. I did some fungus nail analysis and it said theres no fungus. My doctor is a bit stunned and just gave me some nail vitamins. There is also some pus present at the base of one of them. What can I do to fix this?

Empty spot in hinge Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 10

This is the right hinge and you can see the left part of it is completely disconnected from the screen, while the left hinge is connected correctly on both sides. So far I havent noticed a problem, so is this a manufacturing defect or just a design choice?

Up-down BCD counter in Multisim

https://preview.redd.it/qqlvc7uunj3h1.png?width=1592&format=png&auto=webp&s=b5a22fc22b1eaea8917b8400ab995dfdb8acde68

I have built this specific BCD up down counter in Multisim, but the problem I am facing is that when downcounting it displays FE54321, which is not correct. Upcounting is working normally. I have tried different things and so far nothing works. If you have any idea where my problem might be, please tell me.
Thanks in advance!

English Certificate 2 Year Old Rule

I was checking the document requirements and I read that the English Certificate should not be older than 2 years. I got my Cambridge First C1 Certificate in July 2024 and by the time I apply it will be around 2 and a half years old. I am also pursuing my Bachelors in English, so the language of instruction and the diploma will both be in English. Do I have to retake the test or is it ok to use the one I already have?
Thanks in advance.
