CSA/Farm Share

Hi neighbors! We are moving to the neighborhood soon (kinda on Fort Greene/Clinton Hill line) and I’m curious about recommendations for CSAs or farm shares! I have seen recommendations for Farm to People but don’t know much about it. I have also seen seasonal ones like Greene Harvest and Clinton Hill CSA. I know that the seasonal ones require sign ups for 2027 (when they open). Open to any thoughts or recommendations. Thank you!

Peel and stick backsplash on existing tile

Our new apartment’s kitchen is not my style so I would love to add some peel and stick backsplash. Thankfully the backsplash now is tile (unsure of material) so i don’t have to worry about it taking off the drywall. That being said, should I worry about anything damaging this?

Looking for Bathroom Decor Help!

Moving soon to a new apartment with a bathroom styled like this. The black and grey are not really my style but I’m renting so I can’t do a whole demo. How can I make it more homey? I’m probably going to hang a shower curtain instead of relying on the half-wall of glass. There is no window in this bathroom. Thankfully the sink pedestal is one big drawer and the mirror is a medicine cabinet.

Intersection of Clinton Hill/Bed-Stuy/Prospect Heights

Hello all! We are looking at a rental in basically this area (in a brownstone) and we are looking for recommendations on favorite coffee shops, restaurants, etc. or any other notes about this area. We also have an older dog who would have a hard time making the ~1 mile walk to Prospect Park or Fort Greene Park, but it looks like there are some small parks that are closer (I do not mean the playgrounds). Fellow dog owners, how dog friendly is this part of Clinton Hill? We appreciate any tips!

Our Positive KRUU Photobooth Review

When we were hunting for photobooth options, we decided we were not willing to pay $1500 for a booth with an attendant. We came across KRUU (targeted ad probably) which is a rental company. We did the premium option which was about $400. We had a great experience! I know this reads like an ad but I swear it’s not and I’m not being compensated lol. I just wanted more reviews like this when I was looking into KRUU.

It arrived the Thursday of our wedding week (wedding was Saturday) and we had time to set it up at home and take some test pics. Then we packed it up and set it back up at the venue after our rehearsal. We had it up for 6 hours at our cocktail hour & reception and it did not run out of paper or ink! The touch screen was very easy to use and our guests had a blast! We dropped it off at UPS Monday morning after the wedding.

The Thursday after our wedding we got an email notification that all of the photos were available.

The whole process was seamless and for under $400, a total steal.

Andaz Maui Outrigger Canoe Question

Hi all! We will be at the Andaz for the final 3 nights of our honeymoon in August. I know that the resort fee includes an outrigger canoe excursion (we did book on points so this is also waived anyways). Can anyone advise if that free excursion with Maui Pacific is very different than the two paid ones listed here by Maui Pacific? https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/mauipacifictours/?full-items=yes&flow=4920&from-ssl=yes&g4=yes&cp=no&csp=no&back=https%3A%2F%2Fmauipacifictours.com%2Flocations%2Fandaz-maui%2F&ga4t=G-JW93JQV5XV%2C979825104.1780091689\_\_1780520256%3B&u=efc4eaf1-72ca-4eff-8c27-4a65c4f81cbf

Thank you!

UAlbany Hillel rabbi is officiating our wedding and we cannot get ahold of her

I feel insane writing this but we are getting down to the wire. The director of Hillel, Nomi, is officiating our interfaith wedding soon and has not answered our emails or calls in the past several weeks. We just want to make sure she’s okay. This isn’t like her. Is anyone here part of Hillel? We only have her UAlbany email and phone number. Please PM me!

1 Night Stay After Our Wedding - Hotel/Inn Advice

We are planning a 1 night stay right after our wedding next month (wedding is Saturday further upstate, we'd stay Sunday night and leave Monday) and we are having a hard time picking between the dozens of possible hotels/B&Bs! We are hoping for a great on-site restaurant (or walkable) and a spa or sauna would be a fun plus. Looking for opinions on the following:
- Emerson Resort & Spa - Tannersville - ~$329/night
- Woodstock Way Hotel - Woodstock - ~$360/night
- Shandaken Inn - Shandaken - ~$385/night
- Urban Cowboy Lodge - Big Indian - ~$400/night
- The Abbey Inn - Peekskill - ~$500/night
- Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa - Milton - ~$449/night
- Kingston Carriage House - Kingston - ~$300/night

Any others we should look at?

We eliminated the following due to price, lack of availability, or 2 night minimum: Inness, The Hensen, Piaule, Scribner's, The Eldred Reserve, Hotel Lilien, Hasbrouck House, Foxfire Mountain House, Spa Mirbeau (Rhinebeck or Beacon), Saugerties Lighthouse, Deer Mountain Inn, and The Herwood Inn

Heading to Baltimore/JHU Grad Tomorrow

I am heading up to Johns Hopkins tomorrow for a graduation that starts at 9am (so I want to be there by like 8:15). Which is the least bad option?

  1. Driving from downtown Bethesda (home) (will leave by like 6:45am) and parking on campus
  2. Getting to Union Station to take the 7am MARC train (arrives to Baltimore Penn at 7:45 and would uber from there)
