Is this too much for freshman year?

(Repost because I forgot to attach a picture. Sorry!)

I’m an incoming freshman doing an accelerated program basically. I thought 15-16 hours was the norm if you wanna graduate on time and that this much is the norm for stem majors but everyone I know is freaking me out about it. Theres 8 classes total but 3 are labs/recitations. These are all required according to my advisor. I don’t wanna flunk out but I also don’t know what the alternative would be since once again these are all required this semester. Can some people give their perspective?

EDIT: After finding and reviewing the course outline for my degree path I have found that this is in fact the norm for everyone in the program. The only extra “class” I have is the recitation. There’s no way to minimize the workload without throwing me off track. I think that if I can’t handle it I’ll have to do the regular degree path instead of accelerated with guaranteed entry into pharmacy school. We’ll see. Also, I don’t want to name drop my school but I will say that it’s not known for being rigorous or selective or for its academics in general.

Student Job Pay

Does anyone know the usual pay rate for a Desk Assistant or other student jobs? I’m currently debating on if I want to apply for a student job as an incoming freshman.

Constant Hacking Attempts?

For the past few months I have been having constant problems with someone attempting to hack into my icloud. It always begins with the text messages from apple of someone sending a verification code. I ignore them of course, but within a day or so I get an email that someone is attempting to recover my apple account. I cancel that.

This time I got notification on my iphone saying that someone was straight up trying to sign in, meaning they got my password and logged in?? Meaning without the 2 step verification that would have had my apple ID? I hit do not allow and changed my password AGAIN and removed all devicds but is there any way to stop this? it’s clear that apple has plenty of security measures in place but I’m terrified that they’ll actually get in one day. My whole life is apple, it would be over for me.

I spoke to apple support and they said that someone must have my phone number which would explain the recovery attempts but how’d they get my password? Does anyone have advice on how to stop this once and for all? I don’t even understand why this started. It was non existent before like March.

[Routine Help] Routine Advice Needed for Constant Texture, Oiliness, and Blackheads on Cheeks.

I have had acne since I was very young (around 9-10). At first, it was severe but solely on my forehead and temples. I come from a fairly clear skinned family so nobody really had any solid advice for me, they just threw whatever brand they could find at me. Eventually my forehead cleared, but I didn’t even notice the change because my acne had appeared even worse on my cheeks. My skin went from pretty dry to extremely oily. I’m not sure if it was hormonal changes or barrier damage from my horrific routines as a kid or even irritation from mask wearing, but I’ve had it ever since (although it has toned down alot)

Of course, I fell for every trending product under the sun. The red the ordinary serum, every acid you could find at ulta, proactiv, korean skincare etc. At some point I even had an elaborate 10 step routine, however, nothing got better for me until I cut things all the way down to my current routine:

Morning:

Cleanser: La Roche Posay Effaclair cleansing gel for oily skin

Moisturize: Elf holy hydration

Sunscreen: Black Girl Sunscreen (kids) 50 spf

Night:

Oil Cleanser: Manyo

Cleanser: La Roche Posay Effaclair cleansing gel for oily skin

Tretinoin .025% daily (I worked up to it)

Topicals Faded dark spot cream 2x/week.

It really improved my skin but it has kind of plateaued(?). I can’t get it any better than the pictures and although it’s much better than a face full of pimples it still looks quite horrible. Besides the obvious texture and huge pores I get a few pimples around my period and no matter what I do and how careful I am they turn into dark spots/scars. I feel like I‘m kind of stuck and I don’t know what I can do with my routine to fix these issues. Any help would be appreciated.

The oilyness in the picture makes it look much worse than it does right after I wash my face which often fools me into thinking I have improved.

Affordable flip screen camera recommendations for VERY casual use?

I’m not very knowledgeable on cameras so I am looking for advice on a flip screen camera that won’t break my bank since it is for very casual use. I see plenty of off brand options online and I was curious if this was the best option in my case.

  • Budget: $100-200.
  • Country: United States
  • Condition: New or Used
  • Type of Camera: Point and Shoot or mirrorless? Not sure.
  • Intended use: Casual photography(myself, family, friends, etc)
  • End use: Memories? Social media as well but nothing that needs to look polished I suppose.
  • If photography: Portrait, landscape, scenery
  • What features do you absolutely need: Flip screen
  • Portability: Pocket or small bag
  • Cameras you already have: I was gifted a Canon PowerShot Elph 190 IS years ago. It’s literally exactly what I want in a camera, I’d just like a flip screen.
  • Notes: I’m sure someone is going to say to just use my phone, but digital cameras have a specific look that I have yet to figure out how to replicate on my Iphone.

I got a septum about two months ago and it has been healing with no problem, I haven’t done anything differently or changed the piercing, but in the past week or so it has been SO itchy and I don’t understand why. Nothing about my routine has changed.

Anyone know what may be happening? If it’s due to dryness what can I safely put in my nose to relieve some of the discomfort?

EDIT:

My routine:

Antibacterial soap daily as recommended by piercer (I often do 2x a day since that’s how often I wash my face).

I got saline spray (just a regular grocery store brand) as well at first, but around early April I ran out and just stuck with the soap UNTIL about 2 weeks ago. Does saline cause itchiness like this? My last bottle caused no issues but it was a different brand.

My piercer recommended that I occasionally lubricate my piercing with healing ointment. I don’t do this very often as I have heard conflicting information about the safety of this. However, this has also never given me any problems in the 2 months I’ve had this piercing.

Despite my effort, I will be attending Ole Miss as an undergrad this fall due to it being my only affordable option (full ride). I was planning on majoring in Pre-Pharmacy but I also got invited to the early entry program. I accepted my invite since it would be an accelerated (2+4) track and guaranteed entry into their pharmacy school which is also WAY cheaper than any other pharm school, but after hearing the way people talk down on Ole Miss I’m scared that I’ll have trouble being hired, especially outside the south where I hope to go.

Should I leave early entry and do the regular 4 years pre-pharm then apply to another pharmacy school for a better name on my resume or will I be fine?

Has there still not been any announcement regarding quarter and semifinalists? I know you hear the final result by the end of June but typically you should hear something by now right? Has anyone heard from them?

I don’t know who needs to hear this but as someone who is having to decline a more prestigious school (10% acceptance rate) and instead choose their high acceptance rate state school (80+) due to finances, PLEASE be less judgemental on the acceptance rate of a person’s school. Don’t let that number determine your perception of that person’s capabilities or their future, it’s messed up and so hurtful. Not to mention a high acceptance rate does not equal a bad school in the slightest. Just food for thought
