Is this too much for freshman year?
(Repost because I forgot to attach a picture. Sorry!)
I’m an incoming freshman doing an accelerated program basically. I thought 15-16 hours was the norm if you wanna graduate on time and that this much is the norm for stem majors but everyone I know is freaking me out about it. Theres 8 classes total but 3 are labs/recitations. These are all required according to my advisor. I don’t wanna flunk out but I also don’t know what the alternative would be since once again these are all required this semester. Can some people give their perspective?
EDIT: After finding and reviewing the course outline for my degree path I have found that this is in fact the norm for everyone in the program. The only extra “class” I have is the recitation. There’s no way to minimize the workload without throwing me off track. I think that if I can’t handle it I’ll have to do the regular degree path instead of accelerated with guaranteed entry into pharmacy school. We’ll see. Also, I don’t want to name drop my school but I will say that it’s not known for being rigorous or selective or for its academics in general.
