I’m on the hunt for a kitten and I’m speaking with a local rescue. They have posted the first picture of what looks like an 8 week kitten on Petfinder and then sent the most recent picture of a 12 week kitten. But the problem is the markings look completely different.

We have a lynxpoint that we got as a kitten and I know they change color as they grow, but not typically from dark to lighter, particularly looking at the nose coloring.

Thoughts? To me it just seems odd.

I’m finally emotionally ready for a kitten after losing our cat’s littermate. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find a Lynxie/tortimese baby out there with a rescue that doesn’t get adopted in two seconds.

My cat lost her littermate 4 months ago due to a neuro disorder that caused quality of life issues.

After watching her, I think she’d do well with a kitten and have noticed her enrichment needs have increased despite constant enrichment options and me working from home.

One thing we’re worried about is that my cat is virtually a perfect cat (smart, doesn’t counter surf, plays, socializes with company, confident but independent, sleeps with us every night/on our lap) and we’re worried a kitten will affect her behavior and negatively impact her life. We want to be picky about the kittens early signs of personality.

Are there any other considerations for introducing a kitten? Advice on how to make it go as well as possible other than slow introduction?

Cat tax of our girls when we brought them home a little over 2 years ago. The one on the left is now the resident and the little nugget on the right has sadly passed.

I only had 6 tests left and tried to time it for my usual ovulation time. Problem is I’ve had bronchitis residual from the flu, been hydrating like crazy, and taking cold meds. So I either already ovulated or still waiting. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Either way, low hopes for this cycle and ready to head into the next chapter with IVF! Good luck ladies!
