How often do you see or talk to your parents?

I’m sure age and life stage are probably relevant to each answer.

I’m married with three small children. Also an only child. I wouldn’t have a great relationship with my mother, very little common ground but I reckon I see her five out of seven days in a week and I probably text or call on most of the other days.

She would see this as insufficient and considers herself “abandoned” 🙈

What is normal for others?

Team Sports and Physicality

I think I probably need to be told to relax a little here and ease off.

I have two sons, 6 and 5. Older boy struggles with socialisation and coordination. Younger boy would struggle a little socially too. Both are in mainstream education and from most perspectives, getting on really well.

As parents we know they struggle socially, I don’t know if others see that.

We - as a family - are greatly involved in a lot of team sports, as are our boys. They have training sessions most nights each week and they both really enjoy it. They love sport and compete with each other a lot at home.

Here’s an important thing to include: I also do a lot of home coaching with them. I want them to be part of team sports as I feel it will be good for them socially. They also need a little bit of extra support with some motor skills. Again, I’m not sure how much any other parent would notice that. Both boys do well in their training sessions.

Younger boy is highly competitive. Needs to win everything. Subsequently he’s pretty good at sport.

Older boy struggles more. He doesn’t like tackling in sport and is also afraid of being hit. While he does well in coaching sessions (home and team), he really struggles in games to even get on the ball. He lets other people have it. He hasn’t that competitive gene or that desire to take the ball. I’m trying to coach those elements of the game but struggling.

I find watching older boys games difficult. He is so much better than he displays in games and sometimes it feels like all our home practice (don’t get me wrong- the best part of all of my days) is in vain.

I need a mindset change, I need to relax, I know. Has anyone got any other suggestions on this?

I’m really wondering how I can coach him and familiarise him with the physicality required in games.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my complaining. I love my boys. My goal in life is that they will still be playing some form of team sports in their 20s as I hope it will give them a sense of community, friendship, bonding etc.

Any suggestions for somebody about to come off Mounjaro?

I have been on Mounjaro for 6-7 weeks. 2.5mg. 9kg down. Sounds good in theory however the side effects have been so bad that I need to quit ASAP. You name the side effect, I’ve had it in abundance from practically the moment I’ve taken the jab. I’ve tried to persevere/let my body get used to the dose but I’m done. No weight loss is worth this.

But here’s my question: has anyone any tips for keeping that 9kg off or am I just fighting a losing battle?

I’m sure people might suggest reducing dosages etc, and I’ve considered it sure, but I have been getting so progressively sicker each week that I have just had enough.

Prevalence of side effects - am I normal or an outlier

Hi everyone, I am just curious as to the prevalence of side effects among general users of Mounjaro and what is normal?

I am into week 5. First two weeks had no side effects. Overnight on one night of week 3, I got sick. During week 4, I was sick for 3 nights in a row with ongoing diarrhoea. Quite bad, couldn’t lie down at night or I was needing to run to the toilet. During the day I was generally okay.

This week I was okay for the first two days after taking jab. Started experiencing some bloating feelings last night watching tv. Nothing too bad. Extreme fullness perhaps. Then overnight again I had diarrhoea and vomitting…. Followed by stomach cramps and those sulphur burbs this morning.

Is this normal? I can’t imagine people endure this in a weekly basis and keep going???

After 5 weeks, I’m down north of 6 kg but it doesn’t feel worth it today.

Week 4 of Mounjaro - are these side effects?

I’m on week 4 of 2.5 mg Mounjaro. Typically speaking it has been going great. It has killed all food noise, I’m eating healthily because I’m never hungry but know I need food so I’m making good choices. I started at 91kg and right now (week 4) I am clocking in at around 85kg.

FYI - I always felt I lived a super active lifestyle and that this wasn’t reflected in my weight- I felt any little bit I ate over 1500 kcals was severely punished. Anyway, I digress. All good now.

Week 4 and no side effects to date…..until now. Took Jab 4 on Monday and was hit with a nasty bout of reflux and diarrhoea on Tuesday night. Diarrhoea has continued into Wednesday. I also ate dubious spicy chicken balls on Tuesday afternoon. Is this all linked? Is it side effects or might it have been a normal reaction to dodgy spicy chicken balls?

Thanks for reading 😁

This was an attempted attack, yes?

I have found this group to be an incredible support the last twelve months. Background- I am 40, have a narcissistic mother who lives alone and I’m married with small kids.

My wife and my mother co exist. This is due to my mother’s personality and temperamental nature. My wife is allergic to the drama.

My mother was away on holidays last week. She returned with gifts, a T-shirt for me and a sweater for my wife. Within 12 hours of her returning, my wife, kids and myself went on holiday for a week (yes, the two week “break” was planned).

Following my return, my mother came to visit. I was outside playing with the kids when she arrived. We all went inside. She asked where my wife was, I said I didn’t know but I presumed she was upstairs. I asked my son - who had been inside - and he was unsure.

My mother then asked if the T-shirt sizing was right. I said j didn’t know because I hadn’t had a chance to try it on yet. We had had a very short window between the two holidays. She then brought up how she was surprised she didn’t receive a text my wife thanking her for her gift…. I realised at this stage that this was what she had been angling towards and again I just said that we had been busy and our holiday was frantic with small kids.

My mother then made a point of telling me how expensive the gifts she brought for the children were. I’m fairly sure she asked again where my wife was and again I didn’t know. I presumed she was upstairs. Mother then said she would go. She walked out into our hallway (beside the stairs) and again repeated how she was disappointed she never got a text from my wife about the sweater.

It dawned on me later - she did this in the hallway so that my wife would hear her upstairs. My mother wanted either a) her text of gratitude or b) a fight and she was happy with either.

In real time it just struck me as odd but a few hours later I realised it was a case of narcissistic parenting striking yet again.

I didn’t react. I ignored it. I didn’t rise to the bait. My wife was upstairs on the phone. She didn’t hear. I didnt tell her.

But I needed to tell someone so I’m telling all of you 😁

Treadmill circuit board problems

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to troubleshoot a non-working treadmill. Based on my research, a faulty fuse could be the issue. Has anyone any idea where I’d find the fuse on the above circuit board?

Any other suggestions as to what might be the problem are very welcome 👍🏻

Thanks.
