Timewarp coming to Los Angeles but they haven't announced a single DJ yet, and then they expect us to pay upfront?

The fuck!

Edit: it's very telling that insomniac keeps deleting similar commentary to mine from its facebook posts.

Induced Labor - Is It Worth It?

Hi, I'm posting here for my wife. We're in the U.S., California to be precise. Her OBGYN has suggested induced labor as a possibility, if my wife so chooses. The choice is hers obviously, but I do want to get some anecdotal stories from you guys if you could. Was it worth it, or did it cause too much trouble? I have talked to two friends who've chosen induced labor, and both experiences were negative. They both suggested to not opt for induced labor.

I dug up some peer reviewed research on this, and it turns out that the U.S. has far more induced labor cases compared to other developed countries. I am now suspicious of induced labor. To me it seems doctors and hospitals prefer induced labor simply because it is easier to schedule for, so I am afraid that they are more likely to nudge towards induced labor vs not, prioritizing their own interests vs my wife's and our baby's.

Please share your experiences with induced labor. Was it worth it? What are some the problems you've experienced?

This fake invite is circulating in the greater Los Angeles area tennis community. It looks legit, but it's a phishing attempt. Don't click on it, and for god's sake don't enter any login info after clicking on it.

LPT: How to Fight a Health Insurance Denial With a Little-Known Tool: External Reviews

Insurance companies are automatically denying claims at an alarming rate, even if it's medically necessary. They put the onus on you to get an external review, but most people just give up. Apparently only 1 in 10,000 patients ever resort to external reviews when their insurance provider denies an insurance claim on the grounds that it wasn't medically necessary. An external review through an independent third party can make all the difference.

Some caveats:

  • The claim usually has to go through the internal appeals process of your insurance provider first.
  • You must have received a final denial letter from you insurance provider.
  • You must file the external review process within 4 months of the final denial.
  • Urgent or life-threating situations may be eligible for expedited external reviews.

Was called out by roving Umpire for yelling "stay focused" at USTA sectionals. Apparently that's considered coaching?

Apparently I was "giving instructions". So silly. Why don't they just allow coaching already at the amateur level?
