Help / Advice

Hey folks,

Trying to take care of my Dad has taken a tremendous toll on my marriage and I'm afraid that it may not recover.

My wife and I are not a unified front with taking care of my Father and he is dying and on the verge of receiving palliative care. She keeps telling me and reminding me that she has been through this and that she hates seeing me make bad decision after bad decision with his care and I feel like I can't make any decision without pissing her off. I've tried talking things over with her and discussing plans with her, but whenever I make a decision that she doesn't agree with, she tells me that she can't trust me and that she can't count on me and that she has to plan on doing everything because Im not going to be around. She says she feels unappreciated and disrespected by my decisions and that I'm not accepting reality of my Dad dying.

All that said, I am trying to make difficult decisions about his care constantly and I don't have time to go over every decision to be made with her and when I do, unless I do exactly what she says, I'm continuing to devalue her and our marriage.

It's getting to the point to where she plans things with our daughter without me and gives me the silent treatment when at home unless she wants to lash out about how I'm doing something wrong. I've suggested counseling but she says that the problem is with me and that I need counseling, but we don't have time for that. I've asked her time and again for what can I do to help, and I never get an answer other than" you can change by showing me that you value my opinions."

Weve had yet another blowup today and I just feel like I can't win either way and I have to choose between taking care of my Father or making my Family happy and that those things are mutually exclusive and that no matter which way I choose, I lose and my marriage keeps going further down the drain.

Any advice or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated because right now, Im at the end of my rope and I feel like she has 0 compassion/empathy for my situation because she has disowned her Mother and her Dad died an alcoholic piece of shit that abused them all emotionally.

Yesterday morning, my Dad called me from the hospital. He was there getting treated for a recurring pneumonia. He said that he was about to die (he was shaking, weak, and hallucinating) so I rushed to the hospital to be with him. I told my wife what was happening and she called him at the hospital and tried to comfort and console him, while I was on the way there. When I get there, he was shaking uncontrollably, crying, and praying erratically. After about 2 hours of this, he came back to normal.and then the Dr, to our surprise said they were going to discharge him (a total 180) from what we were expecting and I had to get a plan together for his discharge. I told my wife about what was going on and that I was going to work on a plan. She called me about 2 hours later, suggesting that I dispute the discharge orders and that he was unsafe to be discharged on advice from a friend. I told her that I was already of a mind that he was getting discharged and I didn't want to dispute the discharge and if I had to bring him back to the hospital, I would bring him back. During this time, I spoke with the Doctor and he suggested (and I agreed) made arrangements that my Dad go to a Rehab facility before going home and that could buy him more time in the hospital until they arrange the transfer. When I called her and told her about the change of plans, I could tell she was irritated, and then this morning she kept telling me that I haven't accepted that I'm ready for my Dad to die and that I'm just depaying the inevitable and that I should instead be going to the hospital today and start palliative care which I don't think is gonna start anything on a weekend at a VA hospital. And we went round and round again for an hour and a half after that with the argument that she knows what she's talking about and she knows what's going to happen and it hurts her to see me walking into the chopping block time and again and that if I would listen to her, this could all be avoided. She also said that this is the fourth or fifth time we've had the same argument and nothing gets better, so she has to shut me out and accept that I'm not ever going to be there and she has to make plans for everything without me

Please help...

New (to me) Watch Day with the Sea Chronograph

I needed to replace my Aqualand Duplex that finally crapped out (LCD failed) after 20+ years of service, so I found this one refurb on eBay and I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks!

I pulled the bracelet and swapped it for a rubber dive strap I had in my parts bin and luckily it fit the bill.

Hopefully I'll get another 20+ years out of this one too!

Looking for aftermarket straps for Rangebeast. Show me what you've got

I've got some Jays and Kay's 24mm adapters and added this AliX combi bracelet for the time being. I've never had an actual NATO strap on a watch before and really considering one for this watch, but curious if anyone has done one on this thing before. OCW-S7000B-2AJF on order - question about bracelet adjustment

Hi folks,

Long time lurker and thanks to Chrono24, this will be my first foray into the Oceanus line. (Have been a long time JDM Casio fan w/ G-shocks and an MT-G in my collection). While I'm waiting on the watch to arrive, I wanted to ask if anyone has done any bracelet adjustments themselves on this type of bracelet? I've had just about every kind of bracelet link there is (thanks, Casio) whether it's springbar, friction pin only, or pin and collar, and just wondering what to expect with this watch when it arrives? I want to make sure I don't need any special tools outside of a press, springbar tool, etc. to make the adjustment and if I do, I'd like to go ahead and order it now.

Got a pair of siggy's in today's mail call

These are the first graded books that I've purchased from a streaming auction and then submitted for grading by the streamer. I am a tad disappointed in the Ghost Rider being an 8.0, but considering I didn't get to see the book in hand first, I couldn't see any flaws and probably should've opted for a press given that it's a bit older of a book, but who cares as it still presents well and I got a steal on the deal for a signed Crain book.

I'm over the moon (pun fully intended) with the Moon Knight book. It looks great and is the first graded MK book in my collection.
