Found this concert poster from 2015 in my parents basement 🥲

11 years ago I went to this concert alone. Totally forgot I bought this poster and was going through my parent’s basement looking for something for my wedding this Saturday. Funny thing is, I went to hang out with this guy I was talking to after this concert and now we’re having our wedding reception on the same day, 11 years later.

I’m sure I asked my parents to store it for me when we moved to CO several years ago. Now it’s coming back home with me.

Even better that I flew home a few weeks ago to go to Ruoff (was Klipsch back in the day) with my best friend to see them there again! My soul band 🖤

Which layout would you prefer?

Our home currently has a bit of an awkward layout where the bedroom has a “room” off to the side that has a door into a small-ish bathroom with both a shower and a tub. The shower and a tub also share the same waterline, and this bathroom has another door on the other side that walks into the hallway. It is a three bedroom home, but this is the only full bath.

The closet in the bedroom is a little small for our needs (the one at the bottom of the first image is the existing) and can’t be made larger because the laundry room and water heater are on the other side of the wall. We were thinking about making the sink area into another closet and closing off the wall that has the door to the bathroom from the bedroom, however, we will be trying to start a family soon and want any changes we make to benefit the sale price of the home as well as ourselves for the time being. (Probably won’t sell for 2ish years).

If you were buying a home would you prefer to have the sink in the bedroom or more closet space? We had considered splitting the bathroom into two bathrooms including that sink area, but we never did it and feel it is too much money to sink into the home now.

Pls ignore the mess

New Zealand Wedding License

Has anyone else from another country traveled to New Zealand to elope and is now having issues getting their marriage license?

We eloped in early April and have reached out to our officiant about not receiving our license. Initially we were told that it would take 6-8 weeks to reach us, and after reaching out after that time, the officiant told us they’ve called and gotten a new one sent that should take 2-4 weeks.

I just want to get my name change done, and it’s frustrating having no legal record that we’re even married!

Confused on when to send invites?

My date is August 22, so I feel I should already have sent out invites (save the dates when out in Jan). Everywhere I’ve looked says we should have invites sent out 3-4 months in advance.

HOWEVER we don’t even have our FIRST meeting with the coordinator until late May.

We were planning on doing a buffet style, but the quote they gave us was for plated dinners (we told them BEFORE they gave the quote, but they still gave us the plated dinners quote). So we don’t know the estimate for buffet and my have to pivot depending on what she tells us the estimate may be. We still have to plan out everything else, including what time people can show up as they haven’t told us that either. I emailed her a month or so ago asking these questions and she replied saying that all of this would be discussed in our upcoming meeting.

By the end of this month I feel invites would be disastrously late. Am I overthinking this??

Did I make the right decision?

I found a dress on Pinterest that I absolutely loved, but couldn’t find anything quite like it when I went dress shopping. There was a dress that I really liked, but it just didn’t fit the vision that I was feeling. Instead I spent some time researching custom dress designers and went down that road. I am lucky enough that my mom helped me be able to afford such an option - forever grateful to her.

The custom dress turned out so pretty, but there are a few things that the designer didn’t quite get right about the dress that I sent him for inspo. (Mostly the shape of the skirt, I did want the more “tulip” type shape and said that multiple times). Also, I feel the shape isn’t as flattering as the dress I could have gotten off the rack., but that’s not on them at all.

This is mostly just asking for yall opinion because there’s no changing now as the wedding has already happened! What do you think - should I have gone off the rack or was the unique custom the right choice?
