just finished season two

GREAT SEASON!!! i feel like people were more knowledgeable about the game, and were more willing to take risks and commit to specific strategic options. people were actively scheming and working out the numbers games and i loved it. i think henry and tessa played the best strategic game, henry in taking social risks (eg. swapping tribes) and tessa in working out numbers and where votes lay and defying the odds early on.

my favourite dynamic was luke and jericho. literally one of the best duos i’ve watched and they bounced off each other’s humour so much and made the whole thing feel lighthearted. it felt like two chaotic little brothers. least favourite dynamic was sam and mark in the first few episodes. i genuinely felt so uncomfortable watching them cuddle and act like a de-facto couple. a special mention to tarzan and tessa’s relationship which was so sweet and just made me so happy.

>!jericho in particular i think played an excellent game with a particular focus on building genuine social connections and influencing people with his positive attitude. his pitch wasn’t as dramatic as kristie’s in s1, but by the final tribal council i felt like him winning made perfect sense. and his final immunity challenge! he made it look easy! my favourite players in order were: tessa, henry, michelle, luke, jericho, TARZAN, ziggy, jacqui, and kent. kent purely for entertainment purposes.!<

so far i’ve watched: season one, season two, heroes v villains, titans v rebels, and redemption. season two ranks above heroes v villains, but below titans v rebels, for me. keen for season three!

supportive work sneaker recs?

hi all, my new balance 530s are officially DEAD and it’s time for some new work shoes. what are your favourite and most supportive sneakers for work? i have orthotics but would love any suggestions that have in-built arch support for extra comfort. must be good for at least 8-10 hours of standing in retail, extra points if they’re cute. thank you!

deinfluence me please!

the makeup by mario ethereal eyes palette. this has been on my wishlist for a few years and it's really not necessary and way too expensive, i know that much. please deinfluence me. or, if you swear by it, why?

skin-like foundation recs please!

hi all! i’ve been participating in project pan and have officially used up all my winter foundations so it’s time to buy a NEW ONE YAY! i would love your recs on skin-like, light coverage foundations or skin tints. my most recent ones were the fenty skin tint and the glossier skin tint; LOVED the fenty, glossier was a bit too light coverage for me. i’ve seen wonderful things about the westman atelier and the dior skin sticks so if you’ve used them i would love an honest review. thank you in advance 💛

also if you are shade twins with me let me know what you’re using: fenty was shade 2 and glossier was G11. i lean very light neutral.

just finished season one

just finished season one! guys… the lack of strategy was CRIMINAL 😭 a lot of emphasis on honesty and loyalty and tribe alliances which just undermined the whole game, even though everyone seemed to be pretty big survivor fans so you’d think they’d want to be more… shrewd? cunning? willing to actually play the game? the only people who i think fit that description were nick or phoebe, and they were voted out far too early for my liking!!!

other thoughts: really liked the three tribes to start the game off with. did people like/dislike this aspect of the game? i think they should bring it back in future seasons. maybe they didn’t have enough people to do it again and/or it messed up the tribe swap, but the dynamic was super enjoyable. also, what happened with the chickens?! why did they stop providing them? i haven’t watched the other earlier seasons so they might still have them, but they are definitely gone by season 8 and 9. bring back the chickens!!!

also, were el and lee hooking up throughout this entire season? 🤣 i thought lee was married with kids but then in the final immunity challenge his sister came, no maybe not. and they kept calling each other “baby”. then in the final tribal council he said they were definitely not a couple. but it was confusing. i would love for them to have been a couple irl.

>!maybe the best final tribal council i’ve watched yet. kristie came out guns blazing and it was incredible to see after being so underrated all season. by the end of her pitch, everyone was wondering whether they'd been dragging her along the whole time or if she'd actually been playing them; i don’t know the answer but the way she played that was great, i have no notes. such a well deserved win. my favourite players in order were: KRISTIE!!! sam, kate, brooke, lee, conner, phoebe, nick, evan, and des (purely for entertainment value). i’m so keen to watch s2.!<

candle progress

my goal this year was to go through as many candles as possible! i’ve finished three so far. these were: ‘sunrise in capri’ (orange blossom & coconut), ‘last run in aspen’ (amber woods & wildflowers), and ‘orange blossom’ (received as a pressie for chrissy last year). i have a few scents left but they’re all summer scents so not sure what i’m gonna burn next as it’s winter in australia! what’s your fave candle you’ve been burning or panning lately?

just finished heroes v villains

i watched it straight after titans v rebels and honestly enjoyed it even more, mostly because of the drama between the returning players and, of course, king george!!! it was incredible watching george run the strategic side of the game. he is so smart and manipulative and just 10 steps ahead of everyone else. when shaun said talking to george was like talking to a sociopath (can’t remember the episode) he was so bloody right. loved his theatrics and his beef with simon.

>!liz was such a worthy winner (even tho i really don’t think she can claim orchestrating the george vote!) and i thought she really held her own against returning players. i liked how she wasn’t afraid to question and challenge people (especially george) while also building strong friendships and alliances. and of course she was a challenge beast, especially that final immunity challenge. i do think she benefitted from relatively weak opponents in the final 3 (is that controversial to say?) but delivered a really good pitch. my favourite players were: george, liz, shonee, jordie, stevie, sam, and nina.!<

i’ve now watched redemption, titans v rebels, and heroes v villains. my next move is to go back to s1 and start from the very beginning. i’m in it for the long haul! will update y’all! thank you for reading 😁

may empties!

i’m so happy with my progress!!! slowly (but surely) using everything up. here is a short review of the products, not including the nivea body lotion, dove deoderant, tongue cleaners, cotton pads, and samples.

klorane mint detox shampoo: bought this on a whim during a sale and ended up loving it. it’s a clarifiying shampoo that removes ALL the buildup from my oily hair without feeling too harsh. would definitely repurchase.

the body shop satsuma shower gel: the best citrus scent ever, such a nice shower gel for summertime. would repurchase.

garnier papaya hair food mask: another great summer product. it’s super affordable (often on sale too!) and leaves my hair soft and shiny. it can feel a little heavy at times, but i think i was just using too much. would repurchase.

tree hut vanilla body scrub: i love this scrub. it feels way more exfoliating than most other body scrubs which i really like. already repurchased in another scent.

soap and glory righteous body butter: i love this scent and i find it super hydrating (body butter > body lotion all the way). would repurchase.

l’oreal infallible 3 second setting mist: straight up tastes like hairspray, but will ensure a full face of makeup stays ALL day and night. always on sale too. would definitely repurchase.

la roche posay cicaplast baume cream: iconic for a reason. would definitely repurchase.

glossier future dew: i absolutely love this product. i use it as a hydrating primer in colder months when my skin needs extra moisture. it gives a nice dewy base for makeup. would definitely repurchase.

bioderma micellar water: i thought this micellar was overrated, but it does get bonus points as it doesn’t irritate my eyes when removing eye makeup. i’ve already repurchased a big bottle.

laneige vanilla lip sleeping mask: this was the longest pan ever omg. it’s really hydrating and perfect for overnight, but be warned it will last you at least a year so you gotta COMMIT. would repurchase, but want to try others first.

summer fridays birthday cake lip balm: i’m not sure how i feel about this one. the smell is so good and it feels really luxe to apply, but the hydration doesn’t last long so i find myself reapplying constantly? would love to hear other people’s thoughts. wouldn’t repurchase as i want to try others first.

dermal lip balm: iconic for a reason as well. would definitely repurchase.

dove sensitive skin soap: the holy grail of soaps. can use everywhere on your body (and i mean absolutely everywhere!) and it leaves your skin refreshed without any fragrance. i always repurchase a big pack when they’re on sale.
