Mocks tomorrow but I just saw my ex with his new girl
Guys how the hell do I concentrate on past papers when my head feels foggy after this. I dont even have any intentions of getting back with the guy or anything like that it was just a bit of a shock ykwim? He picked the worst day for t tho I need to do well in my physics mock (an A really) but I cant focus on past papers or flashcards after getting thrown off guard like this. I need insane-ly effective concentration tips ASAP
saw my ex with his new gf and my mock is tomorrow
I have an important mock TOMORROW for uni predicted grades and I genuinely cant concentrate on these past paper questions for the life of me. This guy was one of my first loves and also lowk groomed me so we already had a messy history but Id gotten into a comfortable routine of seeing him in church but not really talking to him. But today he brought his new gf (I didnt know he had one). Its fine coz I have no intention of getting back with him anyway its just the timing is a bit bad because if it were any other day I could just be in my feels while I get my head around it and then move on with my life (Its not that im upset or jealous or miss him at all I just am a bit sensitive and a deep romantic ig idrk). Anytime I have an encounter with an ex it makes me feel uneasy and like I have a lump in my throat and my head is foggy.
Everytime im tryna do a practice question or a flashcard I cant concentrate for the life of meeee. I NEED to lock in. It doesnt help that the questions are hard 💔
ANY TIPS would be appreciated

How to study when youve just encountered your ex with a new girl (for the first time in ur life)

Fully quitting
How do I do it? Granted my situation isn't the worst it could be. 1 or 2 hours max usually instead of extensive amounts but it's still so jarring and makes things feel so cloudy.
The only app standing in my way currently is Instagram. But it's never really the app is it? More the state of mind, when there's a will there's a way yk?
The preventative of deleting Instagram is a few things. Documentation via cute stories, and communication with friends.
To be fair not many of my friends text me on insta, usually the occasional reel from a particular friend. It's more the stories i have a harder time pulling away from. When I delete it I find myself wanting to redownload it whenever something fun happens so I can post a cute story about it. I'm aware that it's stupid, and to a degree probably attention seeking but I'm not sure how to break out of it other than the cold turkey approach 🥀
the issue after that aswell is trying to fill the gap in time that would've been spent scrolling. Sure it's the whole point bit it's also a bit daunting.
Longer form content is a good step but I fear its not far off. Tv shows are equally addictive. Books are good but I need more than just books, I play guitar and sometimes do art but these 3 alone aren't enough. Cooking maybe if I ever have the energy, but I need some low energy hobbies too. Any suggestions?
Banning short form content
Lord knows we are all addicted and sick of being so
Is it normal to worry about this?
My favourite teacher dissapeared quite suddenly. At the start of the year we were taught by someone else for reasons not known, only speculated. When he came back he became my favourite teacher bc of his whimsy and approachability. We were meant to go on a class trip but he (last minute) couldnt attend and so the other teacher went instead. Since then it was announced that this teacher would take over for a while (reason being the other teacher isnt here).
(Also as a side note my mind always goes to worst case scenarios sooo... thats not great. Probably self-projecting as well when I pick up on the fact he's never worn short sleeves but yk)
Is it normal to worry about what the reasons might be? Or is it a bit odd to care that much about a teacher?
2 years later and its still on my mind 24/7
Ive been clean for over 2 years and genuinely its all I can think about for months on end and I'm going insane. I had to leave my lesson this morning and my friend from the year above came and I cried and hugged her. I'm genuinely so exhausted. Sure I've been clean for 2 years but at what cost? It takes all my energy and strength to fight these constant urges and stay afloat. When will it end? 5 years? 10 years? EVER? Please someone provide some hope that it stops because I feel like 2 years should be plenty and yet its not.
Can't stop thinking about it
Every day I think about it. Been clean for 2 years but the urges are back and strong. I either think about relapsing, get flashbacks from times I have relapsed, or imagine fake scenarios involving sh or deep cuts. I feel like I've lost any autonomy over my own thoughts and headspace. I can't just "stop" thinking about it because whenever i notice it and try to think of other things it comes back after 2 mins. Over and over and over again. Distractions are momentary, I do have happy moments where its not on the forefront but recently that's been very few.
How do I make it stop, and return to the growth I've made over 2 years and happiness and normal life. Why have I suddenly been dragged back to these urges and thoughts and mindsets out of nowhere?
Addicted to SH
I've been clean for over 2 years and it still haunts me.
To the average person I probably seem like I'm coping fine. I'm happy around friends, do well in class, still have bright and cheerful personality and laugh a lot. But I'm not well. My closer friend's are aware since I've talked about it a few times. All I can think about recently is SH.
I'm quite strong at resisting the urges (as it's been 2 years) but it's still so so hard and takes so much strength. I've started feeling like there's not much hope. I've spoken honestly to therapists, councillors, friends etc but I'm yet to find any advice that actually helps. The feelings I experience are so strong (anxiety as well as urges or sadness or even joy). I don't know how to cope with my intense feelings, and especially how how cope with strong urges. I don't want to "grin and bear it". I dont want to be strong.
I want there to be less of a battle. A way of winning the battle without putting all my effort in to be "strong". A way out. A release. SOMETHING that is going to make a difference. And not your classic "draw, journal, breathe, 54321, distract yourself, challenge the thoughts" shebang. I've tried all the generic stuff.
Please if anyone has anything that can help me let me know.

I first noticed that I was addicted to my phone back in 2020 and realised I needed to make a change. 6 years later I'm still so trapped. I've tried detoxes, un-installments, grey-scale, javascript block on websites, routines, hobbies etc. Nothing is working. Worse yet, the necessity for tech in every day life (education, work, paying bills, whatever) makes it seem impossible to cut it out entirely.
How do I stop this addiction when the odds are against me?
I have so many aspirations. I have hobbies like reading, art, music etc. I want to write a book, be a physicist, engage with philosophy. I want to stat a family, with a God-fearing man and eat healthily in a warm home with minimal screens.
When I go out in the world all I see is people on their phones and it genuinely makes me feel so alone. I feel as though overcoming this addiction and living out the life I envisage for myself would be much more feasible had I meet even just one person with the same ideas as me irl.
Any suggestions, hope, advice??

I'm over 2 years clean but I think about relapsing a lot.
It's gotten worse in the past few weeks and my urges are so strong. I was talking to a college teacher abt how I was stressed about a recent falling out with a girl in the class and opened up somewhat about how it was affecting my mh (He already knew previously that it wasnt perfect since I sometimes need to leave lesson to calm down).
Anyway it was mentioned that I dont often cope well (with reference to my scars) and he said "Just to clarify you don't want to hurt yourself right?" and I had to lie and say no but the real answer is yes, every day.
But how the hell do I say that when I know full well I'd get safeguarded? He also mentioned the option of talking to the counselor but again, how could I truly pour myself out to her when ik full well she would have to safeguard me? Worse yet, if I was fully honest I'd worry they could even put me away in a mental hospital. I'm not crazy I just still have urges that I'm putting all my strength into not acting on.
Is there ANY feasible way of being able to talk to someone thats either a) qualified to help or b) the teacher that is understanding but id feel a bit bad if I went to him for things he has no ability to really help with other than the comfort in knowing he'd understand, rather than a counselor who just knows the theory behind psychology and is trained to say certain things.
