“If at first you dont’ succeed, try, try again”
Long time lurker, 1st time poster.
After what can only be described as an incredibly draining, attritional slog I’ve managed to land a new job and in this climate I’m over the moon!
I’ve been at current company for nearly 10 years and was salary trapped (£35k basic + 20ish % bonus) I couldn’t progress internally despite my best efforts. The bitter part of me thinks nepotism is going on but having applied for 12 internal roles and not being successful the harsh reality is I that I’m the common denominator. The rejections compounded and I have struggled a-lot over the years with workplace inadequacy and not being good enough.
Anyway I’ve freed myself and have landed a more senior £50k + discretionary bonus role at a new company. Those feelings of inadequacy have immediately lifted and I feel so liberated.
I hope this doesn’t come across as a humble brag. I’m more relieved than anything and just wanted to share in this sub. Perseverance is key to getting where you want to, never give up.

Blue Spruce - Wild replanting
I replanted this Blue Spruce we used as a Xmas tree. I went for a well protected and sheltered corner of a small park as I don’t have my own garden and its only young/small so was worried about it being over exposed to the elements. It seems to be doing well the pines are still nice and blue, it hasn’t grown too much though since I planted in Jan.
However I am slightly worried all the other Spring growth is going to take over and start to dominate the space. Will it be okay do we think?

Big drug related milestone today
Today marks a huge milestone for me. Since the age of 19 (now 34) I haven’t gone a single calendar year without some kind of recreational drug use (coke, ket, mdma, pills, weed).
I wouldn’t say I had an addiction per se but when festival season comes around i.e. right now in the UK, bank holiday/ sunny weather I would always succumb to temptation.
Today marks a whole calendar year since and now I’ve reached that milestone I am going to carry on and cut it out completely.
I am going to a day festival in London tomorrow and am going to stay strong and just drink even though I know there will be stuff floating about.

The stuff used to blow my bollucks off! Now I get barely any sensation at all :(
Have they weakened the potency of the ingredients? Or have I just built up a tolerance because I use it every day?
