Do you think it is wrong to donate to the skate community?

So a lil back story.. after go skate day in Pittsburgh that I hosted we decided to donate our ramps to the diy park we started out push at.

Instead of letting these ramps collect dust in our storage unit, we thought skate community deserved them.

We dropped them off at Bloomfield DIY so everyone has more to skate while we wait on the city to move toward future renovations. These ramps value over $1,500 and seeing people enjoy them means a lot more than watching them sit in storage. Do you think it’s wrong to donate to the skate community? Please watch the full video and let me know.

Safety

Hey all, brand new to skating and some of the guys I met at the skatepark said I needed to buy a motorized helmet if I’m new to skating. Any good brands?? Thanks for any help.

How do I not absolutely vandalize my sneakers

So today I moved from my beloved Af1s to a DC court graffik (sue me I know) but I'm too scared I'll rip them completely and I'm not a fan of buying a new sneaker every 3 months. I started skating about 2 months ago and don't do any tricks but I find it pretty fun and I do some entry level stuff like rolling in, going up some ramps, going up a quarter pipe (about halfway) and gapping small gaps. I go about 3 times a week and spend about 4 hours at the park. I can't Ollie yet but I'm pretty confident I will by the end of the summer. What I'm most concerned about is ripping through my sneakers. I just can't afford it and as a teenager you guys know how important it is to go to school looking at least ok. I don't mind wear and tear on my shoes (my Af1s have torn where my ankles sit but that's no problem) I'm not digging having a massive hole tho. Maybe it's just me

Should I buy a new skateboard?

My mother bought this for herself around 2009 and I just recently picked up skateboarding so I've been using it. I was wondering if it's okej the way it is or should I buy a new one. I have the means to buy I new one and was wanting to but dont want to if I don't need to at all. As well as that I was wondering if anybody has recommendations for online websites I could buy a Skateboard with custom imagery on it. Thanks!

I was having very slow scanning times (1 picture per second) , the only solution was deleting the thumb database files

I want to share how i solved the slow scanning process 👍

Delete the thumbnails-digikam.db file and now is scanning 20 pictures per second

New board from CCS 😢

I'm new to skating, and this is the first board I've ever purchased! It looks and feels great, except it's already damaged and worn. I don't understand why or how this happened, especially when the box it came in is undamaged. I've already sent an email to CCS because this is straight-up depressing. This was a birthday gift to myself, and someone used it before I could. 😢

Would it help or hinder to skate while wearing ankle weights? I thought about this the other day because I saw a video of a guy practicing footwork for breakdancing and wondered if it would make any difference to practice tricks while wearing them.

Edit: damn y'all are having my ass for this😭. I don't even own ankle weights, it was just a silly thought. Even if I did, I'm not THAT committed to skating that I'd wear weights while doing it, I'm lazy. Thanks for yalls inputs though.

I was in the skatepark, but a heavy rain just got the idea of appearing. My skate got FULLY wet, and I'm afraid the rain ruined my deck. It's dry in the photo.
