Any girlies who swim?

I love swimming and a) would love some tips if y'all want to share any and b) have some tips to share of my own!

Firstly does anyone have a good swim cap recommendation? I have tried Tyr (it's great but too small for my bun now) and one from a brand called Virsidi (I wouldn't recommend this one. Always slipping off and has done serious damage to my edges because of it). I swim almost once a week so a cap that can fit my bun but not rip my edges out would be great

Secondly some tips I have to share! Firstly, contrary to common belief, swim caps don't keep you hair dry. But they're still great for minimizing your hair soaking in chlorine water. I would recommend wetting your hair with clean water and then using Aquaguard's leave in protector for swimming. It has saved my hair from perpetual dryness from all the chlorine, since I swim regularly

Also, swim paddles have been a game changer for me. They get your hands used to proper water dynamic positions (due to the resistance of the water if they're off) and have really helped me build arm strength and muscle memory.

Last year I could not swim to save my life. Now I've been swimming weekly and the water has basically become my second home. I highly recommend lessons, not only can they save your life, but unlock new confidence and a new hobby for you!

Transitioning from critical operations technician to other roles?

Hello everyone! I'm currently under contract as a critical facilities tech and I'm trying to consider some positions to transition into laterally. I'm just looking for something different that my skills still apply to, especially jobs that are more individual or in a smaller team, and more analytical. For those who started as a facilities tech/EOT/CET and transitioned to another role, what roles did you or others in your experience move into, especially if they're not traditional transitions?

Is there anywhere I can get a Dutch baby?

The only place I knew to get my Dutch baby fix was The Original Pancake House in Falls Church, but unfortunately they closed down. Anybody know another spot that makes them? Google has only given me the Original Pancake House locations in Maryland, just seeing if there may be something closer. Pic in case someone has seen one but doesn't know what they're called

This weekend vs Next weekend debate

Since it's Sunday, it is currently this weekend and weekend A is the weekend coming up next so it's next weekend, is my logic, but apparently I'm in the minority.

Are there any companies that don't do 12hr shifts for technicians?

I don't mind working in a data center but the 12hr shifts are beating my ass. I understand needing manning 24/7, but it would be nicer to have less hours even if it's over more days or something. It feels like my entire work week is just time gone, commute to and from work, spend 12 hours there and come home with barely any time to yourself unless you sacrifice sleep, and get right back to it. It feels like I'm wasting half my life away and I'm dreading spending my life working like this. Are all the companies like this?

Thought I was recording a cute moment with my baby then she bit me in the face

She's just trying to remind me who's the boss in this relationship 🥲

I love when pets have big personalities. What are y'all's babies' personalities like? Gigi is a very sassy lady. She will swat me if she asks for attention and I don't give it to her (a gentle, but sassy swat). She may be a dainty lady in every other way, but she don't play about her pets lmao

How to cover for myself when Grubhub claims I didn't complete an order?

I just started today, did 10 orders and called it good. However Grubhub is saying two of those orders I completed were missed. I know I didn't miss them but I don't really have any proof of that other than maybe my Google maps history. I also managed to remember the name for one of the diners and told them that when I contacted support. Should I just start taking my own pictures of each receipt for a pickup or something? Is it likely they'll figure out their mistake and pay me back?

Outlast: The Jungle Team C drama

I'm only on episode 2 and I honestly do not understand why Team C seems to be backing Wes in the Sarah v Wes drama? Like am I missing something?

Wes has not put in the same amount of work as the rest of the team supposedly (none of them seemed to disagree with Sarah on that), Wes escalates the bickering by being aggressive, Wes honestly doesn't seem to have a great personality either, meanwhile the whole team has turned on Sarah because she "talks too much?" Between a talkative team member and a deadbeat team member, one only burns their own energy, the other burns the entire team's energy by not contributing.

The two other dudes being on Wes's side makes sense, but I was very surprised that the other woman on the team is also against Sarah. Like I feel like you can take note as a woman that the way Wes is treating Sarah is how he's going to treat you when it comes to it, and you know that time will come. Sure, talkative people can be annoying, but Sarah at least seems agreeable, worked her ass off on that shelter and only gets emotional when Wes gets aggressive. I feel terrible for her with the way she's being treated and it honestly just makes me hate the entire team for enabling Wes. I can already tell their team is pretty screwed for the competition.

Looking for an anime that may have been a fever dream

So when I was a kid I used to watch Toonami when it would come on at night, and I have this very core memory of a scene from one of the animes playing. There was a girl in the middle of a forest kind of setting, and she was floating or being suspended by vines or something and she may have been floating over a bed? I have never been able to find what anime this is since. It would have been playing on Toonami back in the early 2000s. I tried my best to draw the memory I have of it ( https://i.redd.it/wuzjat0d1c5h1.jpeg ). If this rings a bell pls let me know!

Why do we still not have a "TCU?"

I always wonder why Twilight never took off with spinoffs and other content to flesh out it's cinematic universe, considering how huge it was in its prime. It's not like there wasn't anything to work off of. The lore we had may not have been as in depth as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones or even The Hunger Games, but I feel like there was enough interesting universe canon beyond Bella and Edward to have done *something* with.

Twilight didn't even fumble its conclusion, it really just ended and faded out of popularity. I always wonder if it would be different if they did at least try to make a spinoff, whether it be some Volturi origin series or even a backstory saga for one of the other vampires. With how most other series ran with their popularity to build up their universe outside of their main story, it makes me wonder why Twilight never did the same

Is it just me or does one more episode not feel like enough?

Maybe I just have some trauma from how The Boys just ended recently, but I felt the exact way at this point in that show. The season has been mostly good so far, but we have only one episode left and it feels like there are still too many loose ends to tie up. I'm hoping they're not going to leave us with some open ended, up to interpretation-ass ending because I know the cast is tapped out for any more seasons after this (not that I necessarily want one anyways), but I also don't want it to feel rushed. It doesn't have to be a happy ending, but Lord please give us closure

The writing in the show is so lazy that they just plagiarized a myth (spoiler)

The writing in the show has gotten so lazy that they really copied and pasted a decades old internet urban legend into the script word for word. The story has long been debunked and is so full of misinformation and fear mongering about snakes. That little ass snake is not eating a full grown adult. And snakes don't "size up" their prey like that, nor do they starve themselves for a larger meal. What really makes it so terrible is them trying to write it off as a legitimate thing that happened to one of the dancers? It really just took away any intimidation and made the whole scene so silly.
