Kitchen Tips

I'd love your best kitchen tips, tricks, and hacks. I have a L-shaped kitchen with a small island and pantry. I have no open walls to hang anything. It's all the L-cabinets and a window.

Trying to find a way to organize and stay uncluttered is tough.

What do y'all do for dining areas?

I have an open floor plan and my living and dining area is a rectangle with a kitchen at the end. The laundry, garage, bathrooms, and bedrooms are all on the front and other end which give the house more dimension. I struggle with finding a way to have a dining area that isn't just a table plopped in the middle of the rectangle. It just feels like I'm not using that space to the best of its ability. The sliding glass doors to the backyard are there as well.

I'd love to hear how you handle a dining area. Pictures appreciated!

Friend Meetup

My husband and I moved here a few years ago and are still looking to meet some folks. We are left-aligned politically. We are thinking of trying a trivia night in the LSL area one night. Anyone interested in maybe meeting up, please message me. We're mid/late 40s.

Betsy at Sign of the Times in St. Louis. My dog passed and this is a memorial to him. Carrots were his favorite and he'd steal them directly from my garden.

I impulsively cut my own hair tonight and really like it! Took off 5”, added layering and bangs.

Books with a non-USA location setting

Hi! I live in the USA and for the last couple years I’ve been pushing myself to read books set outside of the USA. I read a lot of non-fiction but I’m open to fiction too. I don’t enjoy romance or sci-fi. I do enjoy memoirs and biographies so specific people from other countries is good too. Thank you all!

My top read locations are:

USA (198)
Germany (18)
England (15)
France (14)
Australia (4)

I have at least 15 other countries with 1-2 books each.
