I've removed liquid metal from CPU and GPU on Asus rog strix G18 815LR and applied HoneyWell PTM 7950

Hi everyone!

Sorry for my English first of all, it's not my native language :D

I want to share my experience with changing liquid metal (lm) with PTM 7950.

My CPU is Intel Core Ultra 9 275hx.

GPU RTX 5070Ti

The reason I made it, is because after 5 months of purchasing my laptop, temperatures went really crazy. Even while there was nothing happening the temps were 90-98 degrees. While playing Battlefield 6 temps were 96 degrees, and in Arma Regorger it was 98-102.

But when I bought it, temps were just perfect.

So, I found the info that lm is well known for pumping out of CPU crystal.

That's why I removed it by myself (it took few hours, but it's only because I tried to be very carefull). I was following this instructions:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqprn5iGW2o

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxa-7gkbU9M&t=91s

Both of them are very informative but use them together, because some of details if you do this first time, are better showed in one video, some of them in another.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20si41Xaya8

In this video you will see how to work carefully with the material and some lifehacks.

Sooo, the most important thing after my "surgery" operation, is - it works perfect now!

First 10 minutes I was really afraid because temps were crazy again, I thought that I've done something wrong, but after 10 minutes, temps went stable.

Now I have:

68-72 degrees on CPU in Battlefield 6 (high settings, dlls + framegen) 225-240 fps.

78-82 degrees on GPU in the same game.

Arma Reforger 72-76 degrees CPU 80 degrees GPU.

I know that PTM is getting even better after heating/cooling cycles. So I will update the results.

Intel XTU before replace score was 10987 points, now it's 13950 points.

Stress test for 10 minutes shows almost stable temperature not higher than 95 degrees.

It's a great result, cause stress test literally tries to STRESS your cpu :D

I hope my info was usefull. If you have any questions, I will try to answer them.

Swapping Liquid Metal for Honeywell PTM7950 on ROG Strix G18 (Core Ultra 9 275HX) – Anyone done this yet?

(TRANSLATED WITH AI, English is not my first language 😃)

Hey guys,

I have a big problem with my ASUS ROG Strix G18 (G815LR). It has an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 50-series card.

I bought it in November 2025, and it was okay at first. But now, in June 2026, the CPU temperature is totally crazy. Even when I do nothing on the desktop, the temperature can jump from 65°C to 95°C in just one second for no reason. When I download a simple Windows update, it goes up to 95-105°C and starts lagging (thermal throttling). The temperature graph in Intel XTU is jumping up and down like crazy.

I travel a lot with this laptop, so I am 99% sure the factory liquid metal moved or dried out from all the shaking, and now some parts of the CPU have no cooling at all.

I am tired of this liquid metal shit, so I want to go to a service center, remove it completely, and put Honeywell PTM7950 on both CPU and GPU.

My question is: Did anyone try PTM7950 on these new Core Ultra 9 chips? How are the temperatures now? Is it better or worse than liquid metal?

I will post the "before and after" results here when the service center finishes the job.

Thanks!

Quick note upfront — English isn't my first language, so I used AI to help me write this out properly. Sorry if it still reads a bit off.

Hi everyone,

I need to clearly explain my situation because the support responses I’m getting are extremely inconsistent and I’m stuck.

I sold a linen tablecloth set on both eBay and Etsy, shipped from Bulgaria to buyers in Greece.

In both cases I used the courier service Econt. This service was not listed in the official shipping options on either platform (eBay or Etsy), but both platforms allow you to manually select “other shipping service” and enter the carrier name and tracking number. So I used that option and provided full tracking details to the buyers.

eBay situation:

Buyer was from Greece

I shipped using Econt (manually added tracking)

Buyer received the item successfully

Buyer left positive feedback

I contacted eBay support to request delivery confirmation so my payout could be released

First support response: they said they can confirm it without issue

Later response: they said they cannot manually verify anything and I must wait ~2 months for automatic payout release

Etsy situation:

Same shipping method (Econt, manually entered tracking)

Buyer received the item successfully and was very satisfied

Buyer even sent confirmation in Etsy messages so support can see it officially

Tracking on courier site also shows delivered

I contacted Etsy support repeatedly (live chat)

For ~11 days I’ve been getting the same copy-paste responses with no real help

It feels like no one is actually reviewing the case

Main issue:

In both cases:

Tracking numbers exist

Delivery is confirmed by the courier

Buyers confirmed receipt and satisfaction

Feedback/messages confirm successful delivery

But delivery status is “on the way” in both web sites.

both platforms are still holding my funds because the carrier is not fully integrated into their system, even though they allowed manual entry of it during listing.
I know that I’ll have to wait the funds to be released after “DELIVERED” status, but they can’t set the status to this! Even they see all the evidence and buyers confirm they received items!!!

I’ve been contacting support for over 12 days total across both platforms, and I’m just being told to wait or getting contradictory answers. They just ctrl c ctrl v all the time I’m contacting them…

I’m honestly stuck and frustrated at this point. If anyone has experienced something similar or knows how to escalate this properly, I would really appreciate any advice.
