This summer they’ve been just relentless, seems worse than ever. It’s been so nonstop wet and humid that they never quit, and it really sucks to feel like it will only get worse. I don’t want to bathe in DEET just to leave the apartment…

Beautiful typeface. Very likely related to the subject matter, the early 20th century design movement in Vienna.
This morning, I saw half a dozen piles of loose pet food on the sidewalk, placed every 20 feet or so along one block of Carroll Street. Later I saw the same thing on Degraw, Clinton, and Tompkins.
The fuck is going on with this? I’ve seen people leave food on the street for stray cats, but this seemed too big and too much to be cat food. Best I can come up with is trying to attract a lost pet, but that feels like a stretch. Beyond that I can’t imagine what the purpose would be other than to get dogs sick or to attract rats.
Does anyone know what the project is? They’ve had a team of jackhammers below the tracks for what seems like a year, and those sheds on Baltic have been there forever too.
I looked through the MTA’s list of projects, but I couldn’t find anything at this station.
Also had a David Taylor, a 28-year-old who apparently played on Cooper’s little league team. Probably others I haven’t yet found.
Edit: Found a Daniel Higgins, Jr. who has a sister named Emily. He was in a “Friends” contacts group that has also been added. The others might have been too, not sure because I deleted them before I found the group.
I frequently see people who have somehow managed to secure two or even all four tables for birthday parties and stuff. How is this done? Do you just show up super early so you can get them?

Same night of sleep recorded by the ring, interpreted by the Oura app and Apple Health app. I get that Oura’s read on their own data is probably better, and obviously I prefer that night of sleep! Just concerning because in r/applewatch, people who post these sleep graphs that look like barcodes frequently find out they have sleep apnea.
For example, I noticed a building with a dedicated trash for junk mail right next to their mailboxes in the entryway.
We know building management generally sucks, but what are some niceties, quality of life improvements, seasonal stuff, etc. that your neighbors/condo board/building manager etc do?
