Throwback to an interview of this weekend’s injury-replacement and wild-card riders Iker Lecuona (age 15) and Augusto Fernández (age 18) in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship together, around a decade ago, with footage of them riding

Since this video only has 428 views at the time of my posting it here, I reckon that not that many people will have seen it before.

You can see Iker’s size for his age, and his size compared to some of the other riders on their Moto2 bikes, which is why he went straight onto Moto2 bikes, and never raced Moto3 bikes, which he was too big for - you can see that he’s taller than the mechanics next to him in his team. You can also see Iker’s teeth design on his helmet back then, and the Luis Salom tribute sticker on his helmet, since this is from not long after Luis passed away.

Iker and Augusto rode for different teams. Augusto started riding, and they both started racing, a bit later than some other riders who got to MotoGP level did. This video is from their rookie year in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship. You can see Augusto’s bunny mascot logo. The interview asks them about their origins and their training.

Paddock Pass Podcast: WorldSBK commentator Steve English says that Jack Miller is talking to BMW

He also says that Miguel won’t get as much money as he wants to sign for Ducati, so he will re-sign a 2 year + 1 year option deal with BMW, and that BMW will most likely replace Danilo with a new signing.

Which riders would you like to see at which teams, to produce the most competitive races and season?

As in, for example, there’s no point putting someone like Nicolò or an ex-MotoGP rider on a Ducati, because you’d just get a season like this one.

For this purpose, imagine that it’s for next season, so the pool of riders is basically based on this season’s WorldSBK riders, plus the MotoGP riders who currently don’t have a seat there for next year are eligible to be on the WorldSBK grid - i.e., Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller, Brad Binder, Álex Rins, Luca Marini (though he might still get a seat at Tech3 KTM in MotoGP), and Maverick Viñales (though it seems that he might want to take at least next year off), plus, from Moto2, Manu González, and you can possibly choose there to be an extra second Marc VDS Ducati, which in the real world is contracted to Arón Canet if it happens next year, (but it’s free choice, so you can put Arón Canet on that seat, on another team’s seat, not have him in WorldSBK at all, or not have that second Marc VDS Ducati at all). You can add one satellite Honda seat, which it seems that Somkiat Chantra might get moved to next year. You can also choose there to be a second Kawasaki seat or not. It depends on how realistic you want to keep it based on what bikes there are likely to be on the grid next year.

You can also choose from any of this season’s WorldSSP riders, if you like.

Which riders would you pick to make e.g. Honda and Yamaha as competitive as possible, like when Toprak moved to BMW?

The first thought experiment above is based on the current teams all having their current manufacturers’ bikes. As a second, separate thought experiment, you can also imagine a scenario where we have all the current teams (with Team Pedercini Racing having 1 or 2 bikes, up to your choice, and Marc VDS having 1 or 2 bikes, up to your choice), but they can change to any one of the current manufacturers, if you like, though they don’t have to change.

(In both scenarios, MGM only has a single bike on the grid next year, to keep it realistic, because there’s no current sign of them being able to afford to expand back up to two bikes for next year. Also, the new satellite team which would originally be designed for Somkiat Chantra also has 1 bike, for the same reason).

“The Cold Turkey” quadruple meaning

I just realised through watching a couple of reactors that the episode name “The Cold Turkey” has at least 4 meanings - the obvious one which I realised of the cold turkey sandwich that Hannah and Garrett eat, the Logan siblings’ mother in rehab going cold turkey off alcohol, Tucker’s turkey getting cold on the ice when used as the hockey puck (these two from [MissionKimpossible](https://youtu.be/14J3k_73fh8?t=1255&si=oSISC9HNnBdZYfci), and Allie going cold turkey off Sean (from [JKReacts](https://youtu.be/ra6jnhwEM1U?t=36&si=qT1VqHnxXIQItsEA) ). Perhaps even Hannah explaining to Garrett that she went cold turkey off of her hometown.

[Turkish > English] İzlemeden Yargılama

What does “İzlemeden Yargılama” mean in English? I just want to check, because I’m not sure that the translations which I found make sense.

It happens in real life, too: Three-year-old found dead in car in Paris region during France heatwave

I saw people saying that the storyline with the mother not knowing that her child could be trapped in the car was suspicious, and that the mother must have done something on purpose to cause it - well, these accidents happen in real life, too. There have been 2 separate incidents recently in France, leading to the deaths of 3 children, one with a 3-year-old, and another with a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old. With the 3-year-old, the father was working in the shed in the garden. He told the 3-year-old to go and take a nap - his mother was already napping with their other, 18-month-old child. The 3-year-old escaped his parents’ supervision for at least 45 minutes, got in the unlocked car, but couldn’t get out again because of the child locks.

Lebanese-Italian Broadway actor and singer Antonio Cipriano for Fabian?

He can sing in a way which gives chills and tingles, as the video shows. He’s from Grosse Pointe, which is near Windsor. He left a Broadway show 5 years ago when he was just 21 years old due to other trans and non-binary cast members being treated harmfully, so he has queer-friendly principles.

Was Garrett’s first game difficulty that we saw due to Hannah saying that hockey players like to beat other people up?

I only realised on re-watching it why Garrett was so affected/taken aback by what Hannah said directly after she said it, because of how his father treated him and his mother as a child - did it carry over into his game? So it’s good that she inadvertently fixed it - but she also inadvertently triggered it in the first place?

Also, I get that it’s hard to think of everything to say right in the moment when you’re shocked, but I guess that when they broke up, she could have also said more explicitly to try and persuade him otherwise, that Garrett had changed those preconceived notions of hers about hockey players.

Do you think we’ll see the major homoeroticism between Garrett and Logan in the TV show?

I saw this interesting post: https://www.reddit.com/r/RomanceBooks/s/F3KMjpWslz from a few years ago in the RomanceBooks sub-reddit - do you think we’ll see the major homoeroticism between Garrett and Logan reflected in the TV show? The core of the book series is about the bond and relationship between all the boys, so I’m most excited about seeing that.
