Does GammaOS have the stock trigger simulation (Linear/Non-linear) setting?

Hi everyone,

I’ve got an RG477M running GammaOS.

I was watching a YouTube video where someone using the stock firmware went into the controller settings and changed the trigger mode to Linear or Non-linear, which I believe simulates analog triggers even though the L2/R2 buttons are digital.
I'm hoping to play Super Mario Sunshine in Dolphin, where analog triggers are useful. Is there an equivalent setting in GammaOS, or is that feature only available on the stock firmware?

Good news! SakuraRetroModding is making another batch of RG477M PlayStation buttons

Quick update for anyone looking for RG477M PlayStation-style buttons.

I spoke with the original maker u/sakuraRM and he’s going to be doing another batch of them again 👍

No exact details on numbers or timing yet, but just wanted to share in case anyone else has been trying to get hold of a set like I have.

If you’re excited and planning to order a set, give this post an upvote so he can get an idea of how much interest there is!

GammaOS on RG477M – SD card setup for ROMs (bit unsure)

Hi all,

I posted previously about choosing between Stock OS and GammaOS for the RG477M. Since then I’ve gone with GammaOS after a bit more research, mainly for the CRT shaders, which really sold me on it. Appreciate all the help from my last post.

I’ve now got GammaOS installed and running, with Daijisho set up as the frontend. The flashing process was a bit of a headache at first with USB reconnects and button combinations, but I eventually got it sorted and everything is booting fine now.

Now I’m just a bit unsure about the SD card setup for ROMs.

What’s the best way to do it properly — should I format the card on a PC using exFAT, or is there a way to set it up entirely on the device so GammaOS handles everything for me, and then I just add the games afterwards?

Also, for file structure, do I need to manually set up folders like ROMs/PS2, ROMs/PSP, etc., or does Daijisho handle that automatically once everything is scanned?

And do I need to mess around with any storage paths in settings, or is it usually just plug-and-play once the SD card is inserted and detected?

If there’s a good guide or video out there that walks through all of this properly, I’d really appreciate a link 👍

Where are people getting PlayStation-style buttons for the RG477M?

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know where I can get PlayStation-style buttons for the RG477M?

I originally ordered a set from PortablePlayPalace, but after waiting around a month I was told they'd been lost in transit. A replacement was mentioned, but the order ended up being cancelled and refunded instead.

No hard feelings, but I'd rather look elsewhere at this point. I've searched around and can't seem to find anyone else making them for the RG477M.

If anyone knows a seller or has a link, I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: I spoke to u/SakuraRM, and he said he’s going to restock some PSX buttons for the RG477M

Finally got my RG477M! Quick question about GammaOS

Finally received my RG477M! (Long 4 weeks)

I've already got the 3D-printed shoulder bumper mod ready to install, and I'm just waiting for some PlayStation-style buttons to arrive. Once they do, I think I'll open the device up and fit everything at the same time.

This is my first Android handheld and it'll be used pretty much exclusively for PS2 gaming. I've got the 12GB/256GB model with a 256GB SD card for my games.

One thing I'm still undecided on is whether to stick with the stock OS or move over to GammaOS. I've read a lot of posts and there seems to be quite a bit of mixed feedback. Some people say GammaOS improves battery life and overall performance, while others say it causes issues or isn't worth changing from stock.

For those of you who have spent a decent amount of time with the RG477M, what's the general consensus these days? Are most people staying stock, or is GammaOS considered the better option?

Edit: Appreciate all the comments guys, thank you 😊

Charmera AVI files are doing my head in

Got a Charmera and I actually love it, but the file situation is a nightmare.

Everything comes out as AVI and I can’t figure out a simple way to:

- pull all the files off at once
- convert them to MP4 in one go
- get them onto my iPhone easily

Tried HandBrake and VLC but it feels like I’m doing everything one by one and it’s just clunky.

What’s the actual proper way people are doing this? Surely I’m missing something obvious.

International Founders Edition owners: Have you received any further shipping updates yet?

Looks like we're getting close now!

I received the address confirmation email last week for my international Founders Edition order. I pre-ordered back in March, so it's great to finally see some movement.

Has anyone received any additional shipping updates yet?

The wait is nearly over. Really looking forward to getting the phone and seeing how it helps me be more intentional with my tech use.

PS5 download issues on gigabit fibre – Xbox fine, out of ideas

Honestly I’ve tried everything I can think of at this point and I’m completely stuck.
I’m on a 900 Mbps fibre connection (EE router). My Xbox Series X consistently downloads at 600–900 Mbps on the same setup with no issues at all.

My PS5 Pro, however, is really inconsistent over Ethernet.
Downloads often show very high ETAs (like 99 hours for ~50gb), speeds fluctuate heavily, and sometimes it drops into “calculating” or barely moves at all.

What’s confusing me most is:
Over Wi-Fi, it actually works fine (stable downloads, normal behaviour — just slower which is expected)
Over wired Ethernet, it gets worse (barely moves, time keeps going up, “calculating” issues)

What I’ve already tried:
- Direct Ethernet from EE router to PS5
- Multiple Ethernet cables tested
- Xbox tested on the same setup (always full speed ~800–900 Mbps)
- Rebooted router and PS5 multiple times
- “Forget network” and reconnect
- Safe Mode → Rebuild Database & Cleared cache
- Reset to default settings
- Cancelled and restarted downloads
- DNS and MTU left on automatic

At this point I’ve basically ruled out my internet and hardware setup because everything else (especially Xbox series X) works perfectly on the same line.
I recently bought the PS5 locally in the UK (sealed, like new), so I’m starting to wonder if this could actually be a hardware issue or something faulty with the console itself.
I really don’t know what else to try at this point. I’ve spent hours going through router settings, cables, resets, everything I can think of.

What I’m asking:
Has anyone actually seen this before or managed to fix it permanently?
Or is my next step basically:
factory reset the PS5
or contact Sony / consider a repair or return
Any help would really be appreciated because I’m genuinely out of ideas now.

New RG477M owner - any tips for a first-time Android handheld user?

Just ordered an RG477M (12GB/256GB) and can’t wait for it to arrive.

This will be my first Android handheld, so I’m new to the Android emulation side of things. My main focus will be PS2 gaming, and the 4:3 screen was actually one of the main reasons I chose the RG477M. I know widescreen is popular, but PS2 games just look right to me on a 4:3 display. The metal build was another big selling point.

I’ve seen people recommend both the stock OS and GammaOS, so I’d be interested to hear what most owners are using and why. Any beginner tips, must-have apps, frontends, setup guides, or YouTube channels would be appreciated.

I’ve also got the stacked shoulder button mod and PlayStation button swap planned.

Would appreciate any advice….

Great day at Alton Towers, but disappointed by how a friend’s fall was handled

Went to Alton Towers yesterday and had a brilliant day overall. We got on pretty much everything, some rides multiple times, and somehow managed to avoid all the forecast rain and thunderstorms.

One thing did leave a sour taste though. One of my friends who’s quite tall couldn't get the restraint to lock on Th13teen despite trying different seats and cushions. Safety comes first, so we accepted that and moved on.

The issue was that while getting off, he tripped and fell quite badly. Thankfully the injuries weren't serious, but he was bleeding from his wrist and knee and definitely needed them cleaning up and covering. He sat on the bench outside the ride afterwards, and not a single member of staff came over to check if he was okay.

We asked if there was any first aid kit or supplies available and were told there wasn't anything at the ride, only that we could go to Guest Services/First Aid. In the end, a kind mum gave us wipes and plasters, and another guest offered supplies from their own first aid kit. Massive thank you to both of those people.

What concerns me is what would have happened if the injury had been more serious. I understand ride staff aren't paramedics, but I was surprised nobody checked on him or offered to contact First Aid on his behalf. Other guests seemed more concerned than the staff did.

Has anyone else experienced something similar, and is this something worth making a complaint about?

First time going Alton Towers in heavy rain – how do you actually plan for it?

Hi all,

I’ve been to Alton Towers quite a few times (around 5–6 visits), but never in proper heavy rain before. I’ve booked for this Tuesday and the forecast is looking pretty wet.

Just wondering how people usually plan for a rainy day there? I’m trying to work out what actually changes and how to still make the most of it.

A few things I’m thinking:

- Do most rides still run in heavy rain, or are there lots of closures?
- Any essential things to bring that people usually forget?
- Does it actually get quieter, or does everyone just stay and queue anyway?

I’m not too bothered about getting wet, just want to make sure I don’t waste the day or miss out on rides because I’ve planned it wrong.

Any tips from people who’ve done it in bad weather would be appreciated 👍

Any 🇬🇧 RG477M owners interested in a group order for Etsy mods?

Hi everyone,

Just ordered my RG477M during the Summer Sale and I'm looking at getting the stacked L1/R1 shoulder button mod and PlayStation buttons from Etsy.

The only issue is that shipping to the UK is pretty expensive for such small items. Is anyone else in the UK planning on ordering these mods and interested in splitting shipping costs?

I've definitely decided I want them, but I'm not sure what the safest or best way to organise something like this would be, so I'm open to ideas from people who've done group orders before.

Thought I'd ask as I imagine a few more people will have picked up a RG477M during the sale.

Just ordered the RG477M 👀

Planning to mod it a bit once it arrives — mainly want the stacked shoulder triggers (L1/L2 + R1/R2 setup) and better buttons with a PlayStation-style layout.

Only thing putting me off is the shipping costs from the US. The trigger mod is like £26 which is fair enough, but shipping is another £20 😭 same with buttons — actual product price is fine but shipping basically doubles it.

Are there any decent UK alternatives for RG477M buttons/mods?

Is the Anbernic eBay store legit? RG477M question

Hey everyone,

I’m looking at the RG477M mainly for PS2 emulation and found the 12GB/256GB version for about £245 (using a voucher) on eBay from “Anbernic Official Store”.

Just wanted to check — is that actually Anbernic’s real official eBay store or a third-party seller?

Planning to do the bumper mods + better buttons later too.

Thanks!
