Snow tyres and steel wheel deal recommendations - Toronto

Just received my new to me 2025 GS Luxury package. Will post beauty shot tomorrow.

Looking for advice on where to get a nice deal on 215/60R17 snow tyres and steel rims in the Toronto area.

The car has under 10k kms at the moment on factory Bridgestone tyres.

Looking for a 1 bed 1 bath rental in Richmond or New Market area

As the title says, I'm looking for a nice private rental in the area. If it's a basement, it has to be well lit and spacious. Would prefer something on ground level but open to ideas.

We're a working couple, no kids. Would like access to a back yard. Any leads are welcome. FB marketplace has been a dud so far. Any other suggestions for looking at such properties would be appreciated as well.

Soooo..... I failed my G test at Port Union yesterday. Need pointers for G2 in September, Port Union.

This sub to be an absolutely wonderful resource. I've posted comments encouraging others regarding their tests and posted some other queries as well and always received wonderful help.

I'm an experienced driver (Non-Canadian/Ontario) experience of over 17 years. I had my G test yesterday directly from G1 (3+ years experience exemption which is no longer available after rules change in July).
I took 1 lesson from a driving instructor who had initially said I might need 3-4 lessons. After the first lesson he himself said I drove pretty much perfectly and didn't need more lessons and to just go and give my G test.

I had it scheduled for yesterday, 11th August at 9:28 am. The examiner came to my parking spot immediately after I checked in (about 25 minutes early) which I found weird. Anyway, we got on with the test. He took me on route 2. I had already practiced routes 2 and 3 a few days before so I pretty much nailed the speed limit and lane changes etc so everything was good. I checked the mirrors with an exaggerated motion everytime as well.

After we came back and parked, he said I had failed because I didn't check my blind spot AFTER I had successfully changed lanes and merged already.
Which seems weird and BS to me. Other than that he said I didn't have any issues.

He didn't provide me with any other feedback or the score sheet and just left in a hurry. I booked a G2 immediately as I need a licence to drive to work. The earliest date I got was September 21st at Port Union.

What should I prepare for G2 and is it wise to engage a driving instructor for some lessons?

Any other suggestions would be great.

Major difference between Mint Cinnamon and Zorin?

I've been a Mint cinnamon user for a while. It's great, especially considering the age of my pc.

So I'm wondering what is the major difference between Mint Cinnamon and Zorin and is there any benefit in a switch?

What are the advantages Zorin gives over Cinnamon?

Anyone who has taken their G test at Port Union recently?

Hey folks, I have my G test at Port Union on August 11th. I have over 15 years of driving experience, so I'm taking my G test directly after G1.
I know there are 3 routes the examiner can usually take you on from Port Union. Which route are they most likely to use or are preferring to use these days?

Vehicle sold close to 15 years ago, ownership transfer situation

I'll keep it as brief as possible as I'm pretty sure I'm on the right track already but just want to double check and see if there's something I'm not aware of.

  1. We sold a car in probably 2008 or 2009 (can't remember exactly) Subaru J10, Islamabad registered.
  2. It was sold well before the biometric verification requirements.
  3. Car was in my father's name
  4. My father has passed away for close to 4 years now.
  5. We have had no knowledge or information on the car since.
  6. It's probably been sold at least 4x since then.
  7. Present owner has reached out and requested a transfer of ownership.

We obviously can't give that since we sold the car more than 15 years ago. Of the 4 heirs (me and and my 3 siblings) 2 of us are now settled abroad and frankly want nothing to do with the whole process. Car cannot be transferred by one sibling only as it would probably be considered joint property of all 4 of us.

Should we tell the guy to go pound sand or is there something we can give him to go make his case at ETO and get it transferred any way he can without any involvement from us?

One of my friends in Pakistan has advised to give the guy requesting the transfer, a death certificate photocopy after crossing it, writing his CNIC number and mentioning car registration number and putting a 15 day limit on him being able to use said document to get the transfer done, and that we will bear no responsibility of any kind afterwards.

Any advice is welcome.
