I really want to get into electronic music but I find a lot of the stuff I’ve encountered to be incredibly repetitive and boring. Great to dance to, but I’ve never gone clubbing and I don’t really dance by myself. I want some artists or releases that you can actually purely listen to.

The two artists that I can’t get enough of so far

- James Blake (his dubstep stuff)
- Nicolas Jaar

I’ve been a console player my entire life but I picked up a 5070/9700x build and a 1440p 240hz OLED for $1700 off marketplace with my grad party money. I’ve enjoyed the rig so far with the two days I’ve had it. Do you guys who’ve been in this community for a while have any advice or tips?

I just got back from my senior class trip and all of my friends were playing with a footbag that one of them brought. I have cerebral palsy (so limited mobility in my legs) and use crutches, and pretty bad depth perception, but I wanted to join in. I think it’d be a fun skill to pick up for college. Is there a bag with a tether on it or something that I can attach to my wrist so I can practice without the sack rolling away? Or is this not the game for me?

This is an extremely broad question I know but I know of no better way of asking. I’ve been interested in composing for a while (a few years at this point) but I’ve never really started until recently. So a few months ago I decided to start talking piano lessons, learned the basics of music theory I got a MIDI keyboard for Christmas and I was kinda fiddling around with stuff.

But shortly after I stopped taking piano lessons because I just didn’t practice. I tried playing around with my MIDI a bit more but it eventually started collecting dust on my shelf as I got busy with finishing up my senior year of high school… and I was okay with it for the most part. Because something was at the forefront of my mind every time I sat at my laptop: either “I have no idea what to start making” or “This idea that was cool in my head sucks and I hate listening to it.”

I really don’t know what to do. I come from a very musical family and I don’t want to be the one who doesn’t do something with music. I feel inspired to make something but whenever I sit down to actually try to write something I stop because something isn’t clicking. I’ll maybe get a little ways in and find a few notes I like, but very quickly things devolve and I get frustrated.

I’d like some possibly solutions. Do I have a bad ear? Is a DAW just not for me? Is making music just not for me? Something hasn’t clicked and I feel very discouraged

I’m a senior in high school who’s planning possibly minoring in film at UW-Milwaukee. It sounds cliche but I’ve loved movies my entire life and I’ve always wanted to make one. I’m a pretty decent writer (I enjoy it a lot) and I’ve become fascinated with cinematography.

The problem is that I have Cerebral Palsy. I walk with crutches, and even though I’m quite fast and mobile I can’t really carry anything in my hands and I’m not particularly steady on my feet. I think cinematography is a long shot but I’d love to tell stories through this medium we all love. Is there any role that would be more suited to me?
