What is the single most RYM-core album of all time?

An album whose notoriety online is 99% attributed to RYM. Like if someone said it was their favorite album you would know for a FACT that they found it on RYM

Some potential candidates:

Various Artists - The Fire This Time

Ground-Zero - Revolutionary Pekinese Opera

Natural Snow Buildings - The Winter Ray

Maria & The Mirrors - Vision Quest

What are the most front-loaded albums on the site, in terms of track ratings?

I was looking at The Killers’ Hot Fuss and was shocked at how much higher the first half was rated than the second half. Here are the ratings of the entire tracklist:

  1. 4.11
  2. 4.42
  3. 3.99
  4. 4.20
  5. 4.07
  6. 3.36
  7. 3.56
  8. 3.53
  9. 3.37
  10. 3.48
  11. 3.23

Don’t think I’ve seen a more front-loaded album than this. What are some other examples?

People calling slightly under the radar things elite ball knowledge

Aphex Twin is not elite ball knowledge.

The Lighthouse is not elite ball knowledge.

Death Grips are not elite ball knowledge.

Eraserhead is not elite ball knowledge.

I swear we’re in an online epidemic of people trying desperately to feel good about themselves in as many meaningless ways as possible. Same thing with calling things “niche”, a word which once actually had meaning, but has since been stripped of all identity.

No, you don’t know ball for listening to Björk, she’s just not an inescapably mainstream artist like Taylor Swift or Beyonce. There are still millions of people who listen to her and she’s referenced in pop culture all the time. People seem to think that digging SLIGHTLY below the tip of the iceberg makes you some connoisseur of underground art or something. You are not special. Shut the fuck up.

One of my biggest pet peeves at the moment.

TPAB’s tracklist is no longer fully bolded

For Sale? and You Ain’t Gotta Lie, both rated 4.15, have been unbolded. It was only a matter of time. Unfortunate.

I hate these types of posts

Just lame engagement bait. Every few months one of these images will circulate on reddit and get posted on every movie sub, and they always farm upvotes. I mean one of the all-time top posts on this subreddit is one of these, and another one was just posted today and already has over 3,000 upvotes. Are we not tired of this slop yet?

What shade of pink is the hill on this cover?

The album is Amber by Autechre, one of my all-time favorites. Trying to figure out what shade of pink it is for a separate thing I’m working on. Obviously it’s not actually amber lol.

The Campfire Headphase has finally entered the top 1,000!

I’m so glad BOC’s albums have been slowly rising in score amid the release of Inferno. Every album has gone up in ranking, but this especially makes me happy. So deserved.

Anyone know what The Field sampled for the vocals on ‘Another Day’?

Been loving this song from his new EP, and I think the vocals are especially beautiful. Does anyone know what he sampled? I’d love to hear the original song. (they start at 5:08)

I think there should be a search bar in your Lists tab

As someone with over 40 lists, it can be a bit of a monotonous task go try and scroll through my lists until I find the one I want to edit. Adding a search bar would be a convenient feature that would make the lists tab far more efficient for people like me with a ton of lists.

What a crazy falloff

From an eight year streak of making some of the highest rated albums ever, to this. This is what happens when you let your ego overtake your artistic drive.

ICEMAN is currently rated 56 with 5656 ratings

Not much else to add just thought that was neat

I’m wondering if there are any Linkin Park-adjacent artists/bands that aren’t super favored at the moment but could end up being far more praised in the future. Obviously it’s impossible to predict that kind of thing but I’m wondering if yall have anyone in mind.

Who knows, maybe Man’s Best Friend will be charmingly nostalgic in 15 years and rise above a 3.00. Maybe Teezo Touchdown will go down as a misunderstood genius. Idk lmao, just throwing ideas out there.
