Bright flash around 1am - meteor! (not my video)

In case anyone else has also been up late watching the LotR trilogy and saw a HUGE bright flashes, like lightning but no thunder to follow, it was a massive meteor! u/selectivetroglodyte got a great video from i90.

Bubbles are bad for decks and clothes!

In case you missed it, bubbles can cause staining on clothes and can mess up the stain/paint/finish on decks! In all my years I’ve never known and luckily never made that mistake, but will be sharing this info and keeping bubbles to the grass and pavement now! Here’s to learning new things.

Going to delete my last rant post in exchange for info here, thank you for everyone who chimed in to correct me!

Nanny dad worried that bubbles aren’t good for the deck.

He gave us a bath towel to use. I expressed confusion about what kind of harm diluted soap would do to a deck, wondered how he plans to wash said deck if not with soap, and warned him the bubbles may not care about the towel’s boundaries and may float away and fall on the deck anyways.
That’s all.

UPDATE: Thank you all for sharing that bubbles actually mess up a deck! Of course I listened to his concern and stopped using them on the deck before I understood concern, but now I get it! Genuinely had no idea bubbles could actually mess up a deck, I was just getting the same vibe from him as those parents who don’t let their kids play in the grass yard because they paid too much for gardeners so now the grass is only for looking at. Also I have eaten lunch and feel better.

Prime Video functionality on Fire TV

The company that made my TV can’t figure out how to make their own streaming service as functional as their competitors. If I want to resume an episode from Hulu, I press the down button to get to continue watching, click play, and play it without clicking any more buttons. If I want to continue an episode of a Prime Video show, on my Amazon TV, it doesn’t show up in the “continue watching” tab of the Home Screen so I have to scroll to the app, WHERE THERE IS NO CONTINUE WATCHING BAR, search for my show, hit play, AND TURN THE CAPTIONS BACK ON WHICH I HAVE NEVER ONCE TURNED OFF. You’d think the Home Screen “continue watching” would have ONLY prime video shows to incentivize, not the opposite. If I use the oh so handy microphone to search for the show, I click to play it in the app, then it takes me to the apps home page where I have to search for it from there.

Might be the worst thing Amazon has ever done in their entire creation. /s.

Bird ID?

Apologies if this is common and well known, I’ve been here forever but don’t get out enough. What’s this bird I saw at Issaquah Creek? Seemingly VERY large but no guess how big, just perched, hardly moved. Wish I got better photos or had better scale.

Taskmaster Google Trends

When I have to pause an episode to Google a British thing, I love to check Google trends to see who else is in the same boat wanting to laugh along, just so silly
