Budget truck rentals screwed us over today

9 days ago, I booked a 26 ft budget truck through Costco‘s website for their member discount. Total price after tax and fees was around $650, roughly 30% discounted from regular price. We were supposed to pick up the truck this morning at 10 AM but budget called around 9 AM and told us there were no available trucks in Atlanta for our reservation. We asked them to expand their search area and were willing to drive an hour away to Snellville or Lithonia to pick up the truck, but those locations ended up not being able to rent to us either. We ended up spending $1100 to rent a U-Haul truck last minute and are seriously upset.

We’re going to complain to Costco customer service about this because we really did not like paying the extra $450 difference due to budget not keeping sufficient inventory for reservations.

Just failed pathopharm 2 and I'm feeling defeated about nursing

I'm in the 2nd semester of my ABSN and I've just failed pathopharm 2 because my test average was below 75%. We had a total of 6 tests (5 unit tests + a cumulative final) and 3/6 of those tests I scored 79%. I tried and studied the material, but I just can't seem to crack a B or higher. This summer semester was rough because of how accelerated it was, and now I'm regretting not withdrawing and taking a W on my transcript instead of trying to pass. Now my only option to continue is to take a leave of absence next semester, then retake Pharm 2 in January, and catch up to the next cohort in summer and graduate in December of next year instead of May. I feel like nursing is not for me anymore and I'm just feeling defeated. My ADHD was unmedicated for other reasons, but I guess that I should try getting back on it.

thoughts on Cath lab/CV tech experience?

I'm almost halfway done with my ABSN program and I know that ECMO experience is a great option for perfusion school, but what are y'alls thoughts on cath lab experience just in case I don't get into an ICU for my first job? I will still apply for perfusion programs regardless.

How can my dental practice mgmt experience help me enter the device career?

My ultimate goal is to get into ortho or cardiac sales as long as it’s operating room focused. I’ve shadowed ortho procedures (hip/shoulder/knee replacements) and cardiac procedures (aorta valve replacement, CABG) which gave me the idea.

I don’t mind being on call and staying late as long as it’s hands on and there’s room for advancement and learning opportunity. Currently I’m almost halfway through my ABSN, but sales seems to be more my speed.

I thrive in dynamic hands-on environments and wfh is not a priority for me as long as I’m in the OR/active environment. I understand what it’s like to open and run a small business, and I’m also ok with traveling overnight for work up to 25%, maybe more. I also have property mgmt experience (negotiating leases, billing & accounting, mktg commercial properties, negotiating contractors for property improvements, etc.)

I opened and managed two endodontic practices for~2 years before we sold the group. I did everything in the office except for the root canal itself:

  1. marketing the practice (online mktg, designing website & print materials, in-person mktg to general dentists for referrals)
  2. Ordering supplies and maintaining equipment
  3. Chairside assisting with root canals, extractions, apicoectomies
  4. All front desk ops (insurance verification, accounting, scheduling appointments, collections, generating reports for corporate, etc)
  5. Insurance credentialing, contract negotiating with contractor endodontist, etc

I’m 31, college grad (BS in business), and ready to apply.
If anyone has any thoughts, pointers, or even job recs, I’d love to hear them! Currently located in Charleston, SC but I’m willing to move to Washington DC, Philadelphia, NYC, Chicago, NorCal, SoCal, Austin, or Seattle. Thank yall!

My bike was just stolen, which gravel bikes would yall recommend?

My Salsa Journeyer was stolen from my hospital and I’m looking for a cheap lightweight gravel bike that can fit pannier bags. I’m also looking for recommendations on a pannier bag that I can wear as a backpack, affordable bike light for commuting, a decent lock, and tracking device. If you know someone in the Charleston, SC or Atlanta, GA areas selling any of these items, pls DM me. Thank you!
