I’m sure you probably all know what I’m on about - many topicals (especially steroid based topicals) seem to be based on some sort of petroleum/paraffin based substance which is sticky, slimy and an enormous pain in the arse to wash off when it gets on your hands and other places you don’t want it.

After applying topical steroids it to my patches, my hands and the steroid tube end up covered in the stuff, and it’s a massive pain in the arse to wash off.

As it’s an oil based substance, I’ve figured that you have to use some sort of anti-oil based cleaning product (water alone won’t cut it, as water and oil don’t mix so the water will just bounce off any surface covered in it). Regular hand soap sometimes works, but takes ages, and doesn’t seem to get rid of everything. Washing up liquid works a bit better - I guess it’s because washing up liquid is “harsher” (but I suppose this also means it’s bad for the skin).

Anyone else have ideas? Mainly looking for things I can use to wash my hands with after applying it to my body that will completely get rid of it quickly.
