Children 10 and 7

Children left home alone after school for two hours until parent arrives home from work.

Children left home while parent attends exercise classes

Children left home in the evening while parent is out to dinner with friends.

The parent is very aware of what is legal and illegal in the state and claims they are doing nothing wrong which by the letter of the law is correct.

Unfortunately, the two children have said multiple times they are uncomfortable being left alone. They do not want to be left alone. The climax of the issue was them being left home alone at 8 PM and their iPad which they use in an emergency was not working. They frantically looked for a way to contact the parent who was supposed to be taking care of them and were unable to get a hold of them. Thankfully, a neighbor stopped by realized the children were in distress and allowed them to use their phone to contact the other parent who was then able to get a hold of the parent who was supposed to be taking care of them..

Aside from having yet another conversation with the parent about the children being uncomfortable being left alone and being told that it won’t happen again What does the other parent do?

Deer hunting for the first time I’ve watched several videos on YouTube. Want to see if there’s a consensus how to video on how to field dress.

Also, I have hunting knife that I use for coyotes/coons etc, is there any other tool that I should definitely have to field dress? It will be butchered at a local guy I know place so I don’t need to worry about that.

Long story ran over my cord. It did not cut the cord, but it ripped the cord out of the unit that is outside..

I placed it back in and it doesn’t work. I inspected the inside of the port and it does not appear to be damaged

I have verified multiple times that the cord is not cut or crimped. I have reset the unit router multiple times.

Does anybody have any suggestions before I buy a new cord (it will require me to drive an hour to get a new cord or wait two days to get one shipped)

Tldr version: a group of old retired farmers want to invest in a restaurant so they have somewhere to eat in small town, Iowa. They would pay a restaurant manager an attractive wage to run operations.

Open thurs-sat evening reservation only upon making your reservation. You also choose what you’re going to eat.

The menu would be extremely simple

Steak: prime rib, T-bone, ribeye, strip

Chicken: chicken breast, different flavor, sauce options, etc.

Pork loin

Big salad, small salad

Sides: air fried or similar steak fries. Side salad. Baked potato options. Mashed potatoes. Spaghetti. (sounds weird, but it’s a regional thing)

Appetizers: things that are not fried

Typical desserts.

Specialty drinks, emphasis on Moscow mule type items and your typical beer and wine.

Area info:

Town of 10k people, largest town within 30 miles any direction.

There is not a steakhouse or a place to buy a steak for the most part within 30 miles.

In iowa small towns its common practice for 2-3 couples to loadup in someones minivan and drive an hour to eat together on a saturday night in a random town of 200 people and the line will be out the door with people from an hour away with a 2 hour wait. So you sit outside at a picnic table and drink beers waiting.

At one time, we had a very successful steakhouse, but the people just got older and didn’t feel like doing it anymore. They retired at 50. The other handful of restaurants in town for the most part are closed in the evening. The two Mexican restaurants are completely packed.

What delusions exist with this idea?

The whole reservation and ordering at the time of reservation is because often times these people drive an hour to the hole in the wall steakhouse only to find out that they are completely out of steak for the weekend.

The menu is limited with the core idea being do a few things really well instead of a lot of things mediocre.

Night hunting just want something a little quiet as to not scare my farm neighborhood Neighbors. Weight and length are not an issue to me.

That $600 price range of the polonium is a sweet spot for me but if anybody else is like, do not get that, definitely get this I’m open to suggestions.

Looking for a thermal in the $1200 range

Most of the coyotes I call in will be 200 yards or less

My private farm ground is what I hunt, harvested corn and soybean fields in Iowa.

Since it’s my ground, I’m not so worried about accidentally shooting a cow or a neighbor’s dog

It will either go on my AR or my 22–250

I don’t know much about thermal, but if it has the ability to stream what is being seen through the scope onto my phone, so my son can watch it when he’s with me that is a plus

A big factor to me would be warranty

Not as important factor would be battery life as I would only be out for a couple hours at a time.
