ewr to mex july

Looking for advice. I’m finding round trip economy tickets Ewr to Mex for 3 people (1 adult 2 kids) for 62,500 points and 642usd. The flight is booked through Air France on Aeromexico. I am showing a cash price in eco my on United for 2500. Delta seems to have flights too but I don’t have delta rewards. My friend is advising me to wait for placeholder fares to drop for July travel. I think I found a good deal. Can anyone advise? Thanks!

A few hours in Tartu August 9 (Sunday)

A few hours in Tartu between trains on the 9th of August. My style is walk heavy, into music/dive bars over polished ones, good craft beer, good food, outdoor beers in a beautiful spot.
I'm thinking of walking from the train station to Toomemägi to grab a snack and beer at Toome Kohvik. Then to Town Hall Square to wander around. Maybe down to the river find a place for a bite to eat.
Was excited for Aparaaditehas, Genialistide and Tuum Baar but seems to be closed on Sundays
Anything along those lines open Sundays? Good dive bars, cheap eats, or sights worth the detour? Thanks!

5 days in Riga — walking route check + local recs

Staying in Āgenskalns for 5 nights the first week of August.. I love walking, I could do 10-12 miles a day, sometimes more.  I am a walk-stop-beer-snack-repeat guy.  I am drawn to indie/hip-hop leaning spots and emerging neighborhoods etc, over the "tourist" stuff.  Generally I skip museums but making an exception for the open-air one.  I have done probably too much research and have more restaurants and bars than I could ever visit.  So I wanted to get some last minute ideas and a check on my walking "route" ideas.
Day 1 — Arrival (train in at ~8pm) Late arrival day…drop bags at the hotel, cross the bridge into Old Town for a casual dinner, maybe a slow nightcap in a park if we have got legs left. Nothing ambitious.
Day 2 — Full Old Town wander, lunch/snacking through the Central Market, a grocery-beer bench stop in Bastejkalns in the afternoon, and Vinilbars and the area at night.
Day 3 — Morning through the Alberta iela area toward Miera iela for the afternoon for cafés, snacks, and bar hopping.
Day 4 — Cēsis day trip
Day 5 — Open-Air Museum and Āgenskalns (last full day, Bus out to the open air museum for a couple hours in the morning, back for an afternoon in Kalnciema and Āgenskalns near the hotel.
Does this flow make sense, or is there an obvious reorder? What am I missing, I am sure a whole lot. In terms of beer most excited for Nurme, Alus Muiža, Ala Pagrabs, Labietis, Tallinas kvartāls.
Looking for any local beer spots and restaurants in Āgenskalns or nearish the hotel? Any food/restaurant suggestions throughout the city would be greatly appreciated. I think one night I might go for Catch or BABO, however I would love to hear of some places that locals frequent or some nice street food or super casual spots. Dive bars? Music heavy bars?  Acceptable to grab a beer at a corner store and enjoy while walking or sitting in a beautiful outdoor spot? Anything on day 5 that would be a better fit than what I have?...feels like the thinnest day of the five.  Excited to see the city and country!!  All the best!

Last minute advice and walking itinerary question

Staying at Annex Hotel for 3 full days. I love to walk 10-12 miles per day, maybe more, walk-stop-beer-snack-repeat, indie/hip-hop, drawn to emerging and gritty neighborhoods. Not looking to do museums. Budget conscious….Rough plan:

Day 1: Tivoli Gardens, food hall, Rådhuspladsen, Kongens Nytorv, Nyhavn, Broens Street Food, Havnegade, Christiansborg Palace, Royal Library, Mikkeller Bar
Day 2: Bryggebroen, Islands Brygge, Christianshavn, Freetown Christiania, Reffen street food
Day 3: the lakes, Jægersborggade, Assistens Cemetery, Brus, Dronning Louises Bro, Sønder Blvd, Halmtorvet/Sønder Kirkeskoh area, Kødbyen, WarPigs, Åben

Does this flow make sense geographically? I did way too much research and have a stack of bars and restaurants I’ll never hit.  Will inevitably cut most of it and just save room for a couple of genuine must dos.

The main thing I actually want is grocery store beers at good people watching spots (a lake bench, a canal edge, harbor bath areas, that kind of thing) rather than sitting in bars.  I’ll be hitting food halls and street food stands rather than sitting down at restaurants for most meals. Looking to keep a small number of the ideal spots on my list for my style…bar, brewery and restaurant stops.  Some of the many places I have my eye on are...Taverna Kreta, Madglad, Yemen, Warpigs, Tipsy Mermaid, Bru’s. In the end, most of my day will be spent wandering with a beer, stopping for snacks and cheaper eats.  However, each day, I would like to hit a couple of the special places I should not miss!

Anything new that opened this summer I should work in? Any sneaky cheap beer or food spots locals actually go to? Appreciate any local knowledge, all the best! Can’t wait to see the city!!!

Train Tallinn Tartu Riga

Thinking about taking a morning train to Tartu storing luggage (I am packing light) and hitting the city for a few hour and then train to Riga. I have heard the bus from Tallinn to Riga is the better option however I am a train person not a bus person. Would the trip down to Riga with a stop in Tartu be doable in a day? The train tickets for my travel day of August 9 opens up tomorrow so I don’t want to make a mistake. If so any must see places for a walker that loves craft beer and the indie music scene? All the best!

4 Days Tallinn, itinerary check, local perspective?

Landing around 1240 on August 5 and staying at Bob W in Telliskivi. I like to walk a lot (10-15 miles a day isn't unusual), no rental car, no museums.  Rather wander a neighborhood and post up for a beer and some food.  Trying to lean into the emerging/indie side of the city.

Day 1 (arrival, ~5pm start) Telliskivi Creative City + Balti Jaama Turg, Toompea, Patkuli and Kohtuotsa viewing platforms, Old Town for snacks and beers, Linnahall for sunset.

Day 2:  Wander Old Town, walk to Kalaranna shipwreck, Noblessner Sadam, Volta tram to Marati, Pohjala Tehas, Krulli Kvartal, walk or tram back to Telliskivi or Old Town.

Day 4:  Last morning/early afternoon in Tallinn before a 1450 train to Riga, currently open, planning to keep it low key since we'll be dragging from Helsinki the day before.

Am I missing any genuinely local/indie neighborhood or bar that doesn't show up on the standard best of Tallinn lists? Also, beer spots I’m missing? Any good venues or bars for hip hop? Must eats?
Just want to walk, eat well, and drink local beer. Excited to see the country for the first time!! Appreciate any local knowledge

August-Day trip by ferry Tallinn to Helsinki

Doing a one-day stopover in Helsinki via ferry (in 9:30am, out at 10:30pm) on a longer Nordic/Baltic trip. I’m a walker,  happy to do 10-12 miles, no interest in museums, mostly want good neighborhoods, a proper traditional meal, beautiful spots to people watch and casual local beer spots along the way. I travel for craft brews, indie/hiphop music on soundsystem, and authentic neighborhood vibes.
Rough plan: Morning: Hietalahden Kauppahalli, wander Punavuori, Lunch: Sea Horse?, Early afternoon: Market Square, Old Market Hall, quick photo at Senate Square, Then Lonna island for a couple hours (ferry + terrace beer), Tram up to Puu-Vallila to see the wooden houses, Evening in Kallio for local bars (Pub Sirdie and Harju 8 on my list), Bolt back to the ferry terminal to make a 10:30pm departure
Does this actually flow geographically, or am I fighting the map somewhere? Any Kallio bars I’m missing that are more local vibes and good music? Also open to swapping anything if there’s a better order.
Any other suggestions for authentic food, beer, bar culture…would be greatly appreciated.
One random question: is it normal/acceptable here to grab a cheap beer from a grocery store and just drink it on a walk or sitting on a bench/park, or is that not a good idea?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate any local knowledge.

Where to stay in Riga, last leg of a long trip, want local neighborhood over Old Town

Four days, going deep rather than wide.

Travel style: walk 7-10 miles a day, walk/stop/drink/eat/repeat. No museums, no tours. Local bars, neighborhood markets, good food. Tram and foot primary. Into indie rock and underground electronic, live music venues, and emerging neighborhoods.

Plan is to spend time in Miera iela, Āgenskalns, Central Market, Art Nouveau district.

Is staying near Miera iela or Āgenskalns the right call? Any specific streets, hotels, or neighborhoods with an emerging scene worth knowing? Anything to avoid?

I’ve been reading all the warnings about Japan in August. I know the heat and humidity are rough, but August is really my only chance to go. I was in venice last August and swore I wouldn’t do such a hot trip that again. However I’m from the east coast and my situation is either I go in August or go when I retire. So i’ve decided I’m going.

For those of you who’ve actually done Japan in August what worked, what didn’t, and what would you do differently? Any tips for handling the heat, pacing the days, clothing, timing, places that felt more manageable, etc.? Thinking maybe Tokyo and then head north but my real pull is Tokyo, Chubu and Kansai. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Not really looking for ‘don’t go,’ more looking for advice from people who actually did it.
