I need some guidance on how to cut my own hair. I always get the simplest straight cut and I feel like it's about time for me to start doing it myself 🤭

I already have professional scissors that a hairstylist recommended, just want to get some personal recs on how to approach it. I've been too apprehensive of even trying it for years.

Additional info: I just had it refreshed with a trim and some highlights, but would love to learn home trimming techniques before my next trim is even needed.
