This is my first redemption. Its going to be a long 15 weeks waiting!

My guy Hal Chase has one heck of a story.

One of the greatest defensive first basemen ever. Many players and writers who saw him play called him the best fielding first baseman of the Deadball Era. If he were judged on talent alone, he'd likely have been a Hall of Famer.

Played from 1905–1919, mostly with the New York Highlanders (later the Yankees), but also the White Sox, Reds, and Giants.

A compulsive gambler. Chase developed a reputation for betting on baseball—including games involving his own team—and was repeatedly accused of trying to influence outcomes. Many accusations were never proven in court, but they followed him throughout his career.

Connected to the Black Sox scandal. He wasn't one of the eight White Sox players banned for throwing the 1919 World Series, but testimony placed him around the gambling circles involved. He admitted he knew about the fix but said he never reported it.

Baseball effectively blacklisted him. While there wasn't a formal lifetime ban in the same way as the Black Sox players, his gambling reputation ended his career in organized baseball.

Love the look of graded cards. My philosophy has been that these cards "rent shelf space" in my PC. So I am always willing to level up but I feel like I am forced into PSA graded to max return when I do decide to sell. I really like TAG slabs but I leave money on the table if I do. Maybe I just focus on raw and nice one touch mags.

Not usually a fan of cartoonish cards but I low key like this card. Maybe it is nostalgia. For sale(Arena Club) and show off.
