Micron grays
Saw where Micron now has some light and medium gray colors in several sizes. Has anyone used gray in their stippling? Is that considered cheating? I ordered a set haven't tried them yet.

Specifically the Minimoog app and the Model 15. Even when I try to map the CC it doesn't take. It works with all the other apps I want it to. Anybody got any ideas?
I keep seeing it referenced that Jon Anderson wrote lyrics in an abstract way finding combinations of words that matched the music or some such. It's obvious to me that some of his songs are much more conventional, even telling a story. Thinking of Turn of the Century as an example. So was this abstract writing during a certain period, certain albums?
Someone once argued with me:
"Squire, Geddy Lee, Jon Camp and the like are all too busy on the bass. It's distracting and the songs would be stronger and more listenable with simpler bass parts. People don't really like bass except in dance music and they still want it simple there. A lot of prog bassists are just frustrated guitarists."
As a bassist I started to argue but I just walked away.
I never see lyrics discussed much here. Not in the way rock journalists can wax on and on about singer songwriter types.
Do the unusual subject matter and word choices add to your prog experience or do you not care?
Let's imagine you wake up in an alternative reality where all the prog is exactly as it was same albums, same melodies, same vocalists. The only difference is the lyrics are all the worst vapid pop music cliches " girl I love you true, please love me woo, woo, woo" and so forth. Would you still be a massive prog fan or would that temper your attraction?
There's obviously some overlap. Those who enjoy virtuosotic solos for one. I can take it or leave it. Mostly leave it. I never seek it out. It doesn't connect with me like prog does.
I have the impression (perhaps mistakenly) that they aren't using all the dense complicated jazz language. Things like rootless 7th chords and II-V-I progressions and all that other...jazz.
For example, could a top level jam band player sit in with say Christian McBride's band or similar?
I know I can't really stand much jazz improvising but I can listen to jam bands a little.
Do I need those?
Do they still update drivers?

I had some junk in both hands and no place to set them down. She said "Do you have a pen real quick?" I often carry a pen in my shirt pocket. It was sticking out and I think she knows I usually have one. For whatever reason I couldn't get my breath or get my vocal track in gear to speak. Instead I leaned toward her and sort of twisted that side of my chest out and looked down at my pen. She went white and shrieked "What are you trying to do!""What do you want from me!" She knows I have feelings for her. She's been bread-crumbing me for years. Not enough to taste crumbs only enough to see them. I said "I'm not trying to kiss you, there's a pen in my pocket." She grabbed the pen and we went on with life.
Quite an ego blow and also a big reality check to my hope she might one day come around and see I'm the only man who cares for her(seriously she hasn't dated in 15 years or more, no intimate friends). I didn't think I was quite that repulsive to her. She never even flinches if I smooth an errant hair or pick a piece of lint from her. She also will make the office schedule where she and I are the only two in the building for hours at a time.
I just needed to vent. Thank you if you read it all.
I play synths like other instruments. Record a bass line or chord progression. Overdub another part etc. till done.
Have added duct tape to almost every item on a Wurlitzer 200-A. Trying to get the rattles and vibrations to stop. One day played a few notes without the knobs I realized all the ambient noises were gone. The pot stalks aren't centered with the holes in the top. Vibrations are transferring from the chassis to the plastic knobs and they are shaking everything else. Not sure where to proceed. Try to align the pot shafts or put felt or something around the knobs shafts. Option three just leave them off.
Jumbo Angus beef frank sliced into discs grilled, arranged in rough circle. Provolone or pepper jack melted on top. Then laid over on a toasted and buttered everything bagel that's been spread with garlic aoli on one half and horseradish or spicy mustard on the other side. Then sliced in half.
I get the sense they aren't popular here but I think they are great. I love how the super short scale falls under my fingers. I love how light they are. I've played for decades but even my hollow body basses feel heavy. The tone is everything I've searched for in a bass but could never find. Solid, thick, defined but full. Many players don't like the strings but they remind me of artificial gut strings on an upright. Just wanted to sing praises.
Not the felt piano or soft piano. I'm thinking of the short chunky sound guitarists and bassists get from laying the fatty part of their palms across the strings near the bridge.
Or if you are familiar with how some harpsichords have a lute stop.
Or that rubber bridge for guitar fad that was going on a couple of years ago.
Failing all that maybe an adsr envelope effect I could run a piano through.
In my time it seems like technological development has been incremental. Probably the stealth planes being the most advanced new weapon. I'm supposing espionage has gotten so advanced nothing big stays completely under wraps. Space plane, Groom Lake and so forth are they really up to something we have no idea about? You know, in the face of another massive Pearl Harbor will a fleet of Tic Tacs fly out to save us?
I'm wondering based on the character of Professor LeBlanc the violin teacher voiced by Mel Blanc a recurring character on the Jack Benny radio program. Blanc also used the exaggerated French accent with some pompous French chef characters in Warner Brother's cartoons. Also the Pepe LePew cartoon character that I assume is a satire of Maurice Chevalier. Then there were the over the top characters with extreme accents played by Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom in the Pink Panther series of movies. Am I just picking up on a few coincidences or were the French seen as somehow worthy of ridicule?
