they really do sense your emotions 😭

I have been sick all day and am @really fucking exhausted. after my baby (9m) had his dinner i went to rinse him off and dress him and he would constantly crawl away. he does not tolerate nappy changes or being dressed in general and screams if i hold him down. so i let him be and laid down on the couch. I switched on the TV and played dancing fruits and he kept looking between the TV and I. he then cried and i went to pick him up and sat him on my lap and watched tv together. he actually accepted my hug and sat on my lap for a good 20 minutes. i felt so seen and it actually felt nice to finally be able to hug him without a protest. i then felt guilty for getting frustrated with him cause he’s literally just a baby. parenting is so fucking hard when you’re sick.

When did your baby actually start eating food?

8.5mo. I honestly feel like my cooking is shit atp. I make him a rice pudding sort of soupy thing and he eats like 2 spoons before crinkling his nose and turning his head away and wants the shredded cheese instead. I lightly pan fried tofu slices with italian herbs & unsalted butter and all he did was mush it to pieces and none of it ended up in his mouth and all on the catchy. Mashed corn kernels and all he wanted was to play with it. I tried spoon feeding or hand feeding him and he gets frustrated. But he doesn’t bring food to his mouth. He knows how to (he loves strawberries, bananas, oranges etc) and will eat fruit without my help. Is it just my cooking??

Does it get better? Is it hindering his ability that I don’t offer every meal BLW style? I am a super picky eater I hate it and don’t want him to be like me 😭

Honestly, im not even a sparkling clean type of person anyway but whenever my baby starts throwing things or food gets on his clothes it stresses me out so much but I want to move forward so I can offer more BLW type foods. How do you stop thinking about it? 😭

Advice please 😭
My 8.5mo wakes up every 1-2 hours at night. He sometimes settles with a pacifier sometimes needs boob if he keeps crying. He’s fed to sleep. Bedtime is honestly different everyday now because he refuses sleep sometimes or has a few false starts. His first stretch will be 2.5-3hrs long and then after that hes awake whinging every 1-2 hours. We cosleep ever since he moved out of his bassinet because he refused to sleep in his pack and play and since we want him to stay in our room, we can’t fit a cot because the room is tight. His wake windows are about 3/3/3.5 now.
