The Sway/Zoom boot has become one of my favorites out there.

Ever since Powerslide made the new 42.5-43 shell for the Sway/Zoom it is one of the best fitting skates out there for me. I got the Nicola Torelli first and loved the fit so much. I really wanted the Witzemann for aggressive but they were out of my size at the time so I found the black version of the chess. I saw Inlinewarehouse had a restock and sale price on the Witzemann and decided to pick up a pair.

I threw on my Kizer 5x80 and went to the local pump track and had a blast, the Sway boot is awesome and really versatile. I had plenty of support for the 80mm frame. I have gone up to 100mm on the NT1 but it was a bit flexy, I think 90mm is the max I would go.

My case/grip combo

I wanted to keep the case as minimal as possible but needed to have magsafe for my OhSnap stand grip so I went with an Amazon special aramid fiber case with the Stand grip attached. I opted to not attach the front bezel and applied a standard screen protector (non glass due to the curved screen)

After a few days I am liking this combo, it feels almost like a naked phone, but with a little more grip when opening it, and the OhSnap has become a must have for me since I got the non stand version on my S24u.

And before anyone asks, I don't know about wireless charging as I don't use it, but I assume its not in the correct place like every other magsafe case out there.

PSA: Smart Connect on an active dock is very picky about the power supply

TLDR: what I have found is you need to have a "USB-PD" charger with at least 30w of power on the active dock to have a smooth experience.

I know this is going to be a niche thing as not many people even use/know about this feature but it was what made it possible for me to switch from Samsung with Dex as I use it every day and is a must have feature for me.

I got my fold the other day and tested Smart Connect on my Samsung Dex Pad and immediately had issues with the screen blanking out. I figured it was a compatibility with the dock being a Samsung product.

I swapped over to a Dell USB-c hub and Dell 45w laptop charger and it was a little more stable, but still had issues with it blanking out every so often. I opted to just go to a passive HDMI adapter for the rest of the day and that was perfectly fine at the expense of the battery of course.

Looking into it, it seemed like the power supply was what was causing the issue, not the dock itself, so I tried every different power brick I could find and finally found a stable combo with a 30w Apple charger from my MacBook air. Even using it back on the original Dex Pad it has been solid so far with no screen artifacts or blanking out, with the other ones it would start having issues within seconds of booting into the desktop mode.

Before this I tried:

Old Samsung "Quick Charge" brick

2 different Dell USB C laptop chargers

20w Apple charger (For an iPad I think)

20w random phone charger that says USB-PD on it

Finally 30w Apple USB-C charger is what worked.

Found this "MTV" karaoke crt brand new at goodwill for 20 bucks.

Picked this up a while back, it was brand new in the box and I saw it had composite input so I grabbed it. It didn't work out of the box and I didn't really dig into it until tonight, determined the power supply was bad and found a laptop power supply that matched and it came right to life.

The first time it has ever been turned on in 24 years and the picture is not bad at all. Sound is pretty good as well with stereo speakers. Nothing like playing a 5 inch black and white crt in front of my 36 inch.

Picked up Evil dead 2 today to complete the trilogy.

Snagged a copy of evil dead 2 (red disc version too!) at a record store I happened to find while out of town. Now I have the whole trilogy and I got them all in person at different resell shops.

My 1x12 Orange cabs have been out of phase for almost 10 years and I just realized...

This is a bit embarassing but things finally make sense after all these years. I have gone through a few amp setup changes and I used to have an Orange TH30 combo with a PPC1x12 cab under it. I then switched to a Dual Terror, sold the TH30 and got another PPC1x12, a bit of an older model one than the one I currently had.

I remember being a bit underwhelmed by the Dual Terror, it sounded ok but I don't think I ever liked it over my TH30. Around 4 years ago I picked up a Marshall DSL20h because the Dual Terror was just not doing it for me. I definitely liked it more, bit it still didn't have the punch I expected from 2x12 speakers but I never really looked into it further, just figured it was a low watt head and thats just how it is.

Now I just picked up a DSL40cr and could not believe how much low end the 1x12 had compared to my 2 orange cabs. I started messing around with hooking the cabs up to the 40 and with 2 cabs there was no bass at all, but 1 cab it sounded way better. This finally made me realize something was wrong here.

I opened up the first cab and everything was wired correctly, I checked the 2nd, older model and while the speaker terminals were correct (red to positive, black to negative) the wiring on the jack was backwards. I swapped the speaker terminals and when I hooked it back up it was like a whole new world, there was so much low end I had to turn the bass knob to half of what I had it on the DSL20. I tried the Dual Terror and all of a sudden it sounds great, I was planning on selling the Orange, but now may keep it and sell the DSL20.

Buzzing from this haul from a local store!

All were 4.99 besides Alien ($20) and Aliens ($15) robocop 3 appears to be sealed as well. I even had to leave some behind due to LDDB listing them as high chance of rot and I've already been burned a couple times not checking first.
