Oversized fish for beginner+ board?

What does oversizing a fish do? I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs and I have a 6'3" lost round nose fish in my janky quiver of odd and end boards. It's summer and my local breaks are for the most part choppy and small. Would an oversized fish work as a beginner level groveller or will that not work?

Grading a climb by watching a video is dumb

Why is everyone and their mother handing out climbing grades on here? It's ridiculous. The confidence with which an entire comment section grades a "v6-7". Guys please touch some grass.

What kind of art is this?

Saw this in a Thai restaurant somewhere in the U.S. and I'm really curious if this a style of Thai art and what aspects of it are typical vs what aspects might be unique to this piece. I really like this piece and just wanna know more. the rainbow parts are iridescent I think and shimmer and shift colors in the light.

Super Serious Post

Alright boys, after determining after a single bad ride that my childhood boodie board didn't seem to be suitable for the wedge yesterday, what is a good board for the wedge. I see everyone rocks Science there, and I wanna fit in, so preferably a Science board or even cooler. Thanks in advance.

20 Year Old Costco Morey Boogie Board

So I'm a bodysurfer mainly and I found my old childhood boogie board at my parents' place last month. Finally took it out to the wedge and it felt super weird. If felt like it was just super flexy so I'm guessing there is no stringer in it? I went on probably a 5 ft wave and I couldn't really turn with the wave so ended up going straight which was lame. It felt super bouncey and and flexible and I'm guessing pro board don't feel that way.

Anyway, what's a good board you'd recommend for 5-10 ft wedge?

Prayers for rain

Hit a wedgey beach break in the pm two days ago, surfline said 2-3 ft and fair but it really turned on once I was in the water. Tide was going out but it seemed to hit a sweet spot for an hour. 6-7 ft three- 4 wave sets rolling in every 15-20 mins or so. There was a group of kids yelling in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish but they seemed like they were having fun. Good vibes all around. It's 2-3 ft and fair again today, but lets hope for some of that same magic.

The ocean may in fact heal all wounds

Just wanted to say I'm so glad I didn't get sucked into a surfing-only mindset. I love the ocean and there's so many ways to experience it and to experience waves. I got stung by a sting ray last month and I wasn't even mad. Yeah that shit hurt but you know, I stepped on the guy. Just wanted to encourage yall to jump in the ocean sometime soon.
