Inherited a bunch of coins and notes. Many notes are foreign. Can I share what I have to see if there's any value?

Title says it all. I'm not sure if this sub allows 'how much can I get for these' posts with foreign bills.

From my quick searches most, if not all, are demonetized but according to the Google machine they 'still have collector value' **vague**

Thanks in advance

Inherited some coins and notes

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I've inherited boxes of coins and a few notes. Is this worth anything more than face? I know nothing about bills - excuse my ignorance. But it looks important enough that he had it preserved by PCS (?)

Thanks in advance

Thinking of getting a Franco bracelet

Hey guys.

I currently have a 4mm 14k diamond cut rope bracelet (8") and I'm thinking of getting a 3mm 14k diamond cut Franco to stack on the same wrist.

What you see in the picture is what I wear daily
- 4mm .925 silver Franco chain (26")
- Stainless steel watch (model depending on what I'm feeling that morning)
- 6mm 14k wedding band
- 4mm 14k DC rope bracelet (8")

Do you guys think a 3mm DC Franco would look good next to my rope?

Do anyone you sport the Franco/rope stack? If so, can you share pictures?

Thanks in advance for the opinions!

First silver chain - Imbued. I'll be back

Hey guys!

I just wanted to share my experience with Imbued Jewelry and say right off the bat, I'll definitely be going back! For context - I'm in no way affiliated with Imbued. I'm just a happy customer spreading the word because companies like this deserve all the success in the world.

This is my first chain (I've been into watches and bracelets) and I decided to look into Imbued based on feedback I saw here.

After using the chat feature and asking opinions and it all felt very personal and not "salesy" at all. Figured I wanted a Franco but I didn't know what size so I ordered stainless steel versions from Amazon in various widths and lengths. Landed on liking the 26" 4mm (I'm a bigger dude at 6'1" 250lbs with a ~18" neck, and I didn't like the chain to feel constricting at all). So that's what I went with.

I placed my order on Thursday night and it was shipped out Friday morning. I received it yesterday (Monday).

I used the REDDIT promo code to get 15% off. So not only were they cheaper than comparables, the customer service received in the chats and quick shipping are why people like me become repeat customers.

The chain is even more beautiful in person and heavier than listed. Listing says ~42g. I weighed it at 45.55g last night.

Ps. Don't worry, I'll tuck it in when wearing a collared shirt - I just used this pic to show it on my neck for the post 😜

Looking for opinions for next piece

Hey all.

I'm looking to purchase my second gold piece (other than my wedding ring) and I'm stuck between a couple of options. I'd like some outside perspective/opinions

I wear stainless steel watches every day and have a 14k 4mm solid rope bracelet that I wear everyday as well. I also have a 14k gold wedding ring (see picture of my typical setup)

I'm wanting a necklace next and stuck between a 10k 4mm solid rope or a 10k 3mm solid Franco.

Which would you go with in my shoes and why?

First bracelet. Help

Hey gang!

Just got my first gold bracelet and not sure if I should have gone larger. What are the collective thoughts?

14k 4mm 8" rope (11.5g). My wrist is 7.75"

I think I'm happy with the 4mm decision but not sure if I should have gone with 8.5" or even a 9".

I've been into watches for a while and always wear them above the wrist bone and snug enough to not drop to my hand, so the thought was to kind of do the same with my bracelet.

What are your thought?

Which one?

I want to add some color to my collection and I've landed on the Spinnaker Bradner. I just can't decide between which color to get.

Would you go with the saffron splash or the scarlet horizon?

What's your favorite "I'm just playin'..." line at the end of a song?

Mine is probably at the end of "She Loves Me" on MTBMB

'I'm just playin', I ain't got no foosball table'

New Lunar Pilot while on my cruise

I just got this Bulova Lunar Pilot last night on the ship. They initially knocked it from $895 to $795. I came back the next day and they went down to $626. I went back last night and told them I'd buy it immediately if they could do $550 out the door.

He got his manager over. The manager tapped on the screen a few times and walked away without saying a word. At this point I didn't know if my negotiation was successful or not. The associate then said "congratulations on your new watch"

I'm stoked. I'd been eyeballing this for a while and I'm happy to get it for cheaper than I've been able to find online

[Discussion] Going on a cruise. Which to take?

Hey all,

I'm leaving this weekend for a tropical cruise. I have a 2 slot watch box. Which 3 from my collection should I take?

I'm pretty sure I want the SMP and Hamilton to go with me, but can't decide on the 3rd. Orient, Seiko 5, Bulova are coming to mind. But also the Timex, blue Angels or a G shock would be nice.

Help! I'm stuck. What 3 would you take and why?

EDIT: I posted a pic in the comments of the three I decided to go with. Seamaster, Bulova, and Orient. Thanks everyone for the input

[Omega SMP 300] Best morning watch grab

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there.

My boys know I always grab a watch from my box before going downstairs in the morning. They put these where they knew I'd see them.

I ended up grabbing my SMP 300 for today

I'm a lucky man

In case anyone is wondering:
Left picture: "a muscleman"
Right picture: "you vacuuming up a mess"

[Question] What's next?

Based on what I have, what should I look at next? (Other than a new watch box)

Is there a certain style or color I should look into? I have plenty of chronographs and divers and enough blue and green, I feel like

Thinking of something that pops. Maybe a yellow or an orange dial, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions are welcome

First Omega

I just added this gorgeous watch to my small collection. Long time lurker of this sub, first time poster.

This is the biggest 'treat yourself' purchase I think I've ever made. Much deliberation went into it but I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Any suggestions on a good bracelet I can get for this, in case I want to dress it up a bit?

Cheers!

Holy accurate timekeeping, Batman!

I just have to say how impressed I am with the timekeeping on my new Aviation Pilot Day Date (Coop).

I got it on 5/27 and set the time around 10am that morning. Between then and 9pm on 5/31 it only lost 3 seconds.

I reset the time at exactly 9pm on 5/31 and since then (86 hours at the time of this post) it has lost exactly A HALF A SECOND!! I'm absolutely at a loss for words. All my other automatics are +\- 5-10 seconds per day.

Is this normal? I'm not checking it's accuracy daily so maybe it's losing time one day but gaining time another day, to even out to basically no deviation (?) I'm not sure, and I'm definitely not complaining. Loving this watch!

She was taking notes the whole time (internal screaming)

I’ve been unintentionally giving my wife a full dissertation on the Coop for months now. Just absolute rambling every time it came up.

Apparently she was actually listening, because she surprised me with one for my birthday 😱

I can't get over how beautiful this watch is, especially in the sun. The lightly textured dial, the polished accents, the applied numerals all just pop and together make a very well refined looking watch.

Safe to say this one means a lot more to me than just another watch in the box and it's gonna be tough to reach for anything else in the morning.
