Roku + HomeKit = Nothing Sandwich

This integration does nothing. Absolutely pointless. (Roku 4K stick)

For my scenario, lease vs buy?

Lease vs finance question: In the following scenario, should I lease or buy (finance)?

Car: 2026 RAV4 model $40K now and let’s say stay with RAV4 going forward.

Scenario: new car every 36 month when lease is up vs new car every 60 months when paid off. Not holding on to it till the wheels fall off. So always some sort of payment.

Assume: Drive 12K per year max

Assume: $4K down each time lease or finance.

Assume: 60% of vehicle price for trade each time when financed. $14K trade in for first purchase (have car to trade now). Not used for leases.

My math shows $3K more over a 10 year period to buy them vs lease them. 3 leased cars- 2 financed cars.

Can I power the X50 outdoor with POE but use mesh instead of live Ethernet?

I am getting an X50 outdoor to connect to existing Deco XE75 network. I want to connect the X50 to rest of network via wireless backhaul (not wired). Can I power it over POE with an injector only and not connect it to wired data? There’s no wired data connection, but I want to use POE due to placement. Concern is that once the X50 senses a POE connection it will require wired data and prevent using wireless mesh. Does it prevent that?

Mount doorbell to glass door?

Getting a new storm door. Brick house. Anyone stick their doorbell to the glass door instead of screwing it into the brick? Thoughts? What would stick it best?

No wood nearby that’s wide enough to install on. FYI. Brick or glass only.

Any experience connecting the alarm function to Noonlight for monitoring?

Aqara is missing the option for alarm monitoring for those who want it. I’ve been playing with Noonlight as an option for 24x7 monitoring. Anyone else doing this? Experiences?

It might need to work with IFTTT and a triggering plug device. Not sure how this would work.

Push notifications for low battery on devices?

I see in the app under Consumables Overview that I have devices where the battery is showing as low and needs to be replaced. I don’t go in app often. How can the app send me a push notification when it sees a low battery so I don’t have to look? Maybe I missed this option.

Push notifications for offline devices?

In the Aqara app it shows an Issue on the dashboard for an offline sensor (leak in this case). It’s been offline for about 2 weeks. I didn’t know because I don’t go in the app often. How can the Aqara app send a push notification when a device goes offline? I can’t find this option.

Aqara smoke detectors are not certified in US. If I use a US certified brand like Kidde, how can I get an alarm condition to trigger an automation? I assume the only way would be through a listener but is there one that would work?

So I’m looking to add an Aqara door lock to my summer cabin door in an area prone to power outages. I’d like to basically hard wire power to the lock and enable it to still function in a power outage. I was thinking of a device like this that is a mini UPS to connect over a USB C connection to the charging port on the lock.

Will this work? Any other suggestions? Thanks.
