Just got my ‘93 XLT… built in Canada and lived in Oregon until now. v8, 4x4, two tanks, dual shock front suspension, and not much else. All
Original. No rust and a solid base. Excited to take this ride.

Looking forward to range day on Sunday. It's still relatively new, a few hundred rounds through it, but it's such a good rifle, and the Accupoint 1-6 has been a really nice, clear, optic for 200yds.
I want to run a shorter barrel on a PCC 916 I have, and I like building. So I was thinking of grabbing a stripped upper, and then any barrel/hand guard based on availability/length. Then finally adding a brace or doing the requisite SBR paperwork.
Is there anything wrong with my thinking and assumptions? The 916 is direct blowback and AR platform based, so shouldn't it be that easy? Grab a direct blowback upper, barrel, and handguard, and have fun?
You can see the original build somewhere here, but it was all the things, red dot + magnifier, light, on and on.
A few mags in I was like nope, a few more and shit was still coming off until I ended up here. All Noveske still, 300 blackout 8”, and nothing other than Peak/01 fixed sights and my Huxwrx. Now it breaks down, goes in my backpack, and just wins.
It’s my based base build.
I definitely appreciate it and enjoy the LC the more I drive/the longer I own it. Especially after coming from the Grenadier ownership experience.
