Swimming for months now. How do i maximize losing fat with swimming

I swim average go local swimming pool 2.5 times a week. always do 2000~2300 yards (trying to do about 1 hour) and my swim level is

6ft2 big guy 280 pounds( lost 70 pounds over a year with swim bike run xD)

Css is 2:10

Maximum effort 100m 1min40sec

Average pace 2:01-2:07(last year i was doing 2:50 so i improved a lot)

My usual plane is usually

300 freestyle warm up

50x3or4 of technique drill

200×6

Cooldown + just having fun doing other technique

i been focusing on reaching goals such as hitting 200yards, focus on better technique, doing 1500 yards non stop, learning butterfly and so on.. but now i ran out of goals. And now i want to maximize on burning fat. What should my drills consist of, and how can i maximize fat burning with swimming?

Also my garmin always say i did 1000-1200 calories per session is this legit?

Do you guys get ever injured badly riding road bike?

Seeing Pogačar suffer a neck and collarbone fracture today, I wonder how normal road cyclists do in real life. Have you guys ever been injured badly enough to need a hospital? I hate fractures, did my ankle badly back in college basketball and ocd(fracture on my ankle joint) in My ankle back in 2017

Even though I try to ride safely and be careful out there, it’s hard to deny how dangerous cycling can get. One misjudgment at high speed can lead to injuries, especially since it's a fast-paced sport where you only have a helmet on. One rock on the road or a single pothole even slippery metal can get ya :(

I do think it's a pretty safe sport if you ride responsibly, but some times i do get worried i might get fall and get my collarbone fractured lol.

Should i be worried or stop being a 😺 and just have fun? Let me know how you guys are doing and share your experience on this matter!

Just finished first sprint triathlon.

My bed Feels so good after sprint tri btw but to do a recap

The swim was very scary at the start. First 100m i had hit 2 people got hit once and i have turned the wrong way after body hit and swim towards the middle of river for 25m lol couldn't see a damn thing Coming out of the river slipped and fell down once.

The cycle was very fun i was able to pass some folks it was fun to cheer others and only down part was i had two bottle full of electrolytes i felt sick after drinking too much salt lol at 15 km mark i was thirsty and had a salty taste in my mouth

The run was the hardest i was bleeding a little from fall, body was exhausted did 1.5k without stopping but after that i had to run walk run at this point leg was like a brick.

Finished about 6th in 7 from cyldesdale(220+ weight limit), maybe 33th out of 35 mens but dude who dropped down from 352 pounds to 295 pounds, it was fun and meaningful race! :)

Hopping i can try out for Olympics tri next spring of 2027 and go full gas for 70.3 next fall of 2027!

Tpu seems like easier maintenance over tubeless how is riding experience?

Just did tubeless setup for the first time already exhausted from adding sealant ..

But this wasn't the end..

now i also found out you need to

carry tire patch worm kit for bigger flats,

co2 and spare tube for if it doesn't seal,

Need to add sealant 3months and need to keep it flowing inside tire every week or its going to dry up

Valve core gets sealant as well and need to change valve core when it happens,

Need to removed gunks end of every year lol

All this for smooth ride and less tire puncture I guess. I think all this could be worth it if it is. But unfortunately i have never tried tpu tires So i wonder how you guys feel about tpu riding experience over tubeless.

Also tpu downside is more puncture on road, more down time, less comfortable than tubeless right?

Let me know how you guys think and thank you in advance!

I want to show off my new bike wheels xD

I changed to 'cheap' carbon wheels from AliExpress (I can't believe $700 for wheels is considered cheap, but it is what it is, lol) and I love the look.

All black makes the red stand out even more. Can't wait to try them out tomorrow with the new tubeless wheels and new GP5000 tires!

Its going to give me edge on first sprint triathlon next week. Good luck!

Going tubless vs tpu vs butyl

Hi i am 2 months in to cycling did 500km and thinking about changing from butyl tube to either tpu or tubeless for better riding experience. But for 20km+ regular speed ride rider i am not sure if its worth it. Could you tell me what you use and what might be the one for me.

I feel like for smooth riding experience tubeless might be the one. Can you tell the difference once you go from butyl to tubeless or tpu? And i am also changing my tires to cheap carbon wheels(edge 3.0 from elitewheels)

bike fit question for tall long torso guys with shorter inseam (i have frame size 58, 6ft2 long torso, short 32 inch inseam )

i am 6ft2, have short inseam of 32inch ~31.5 inch which is basically no legs for my height and have long torso like swimmer body. i actually got 62frame bike first and sold it because it didnt fit my leg size .. so i got bike fit and bike fitter told me i need shorter steam and 58 frame size bike so i did that bought a cannondale synapse ( he had hard time choosing 56 or 58 because of my inseam but i have no problem with 58 standing)

but my shorter stem part got delayed for a month and up+ still waiting (which is crazy in 2026 Ai driven logistic world) so i am riding now 58 frame with 100 mm OG stem and its not that bad.. i am doing 2 hour rides without any pains accept butt sorness from being heavy weight.

so i wonder why my bike fitter would recommend me shorter stem.. i think i might have shorter arm maybe? and when i was doing bike fitting i felt it was much better when stem was shorter but i dont know now riding 200km + and i am actually okay with it.

i am 6ft2
i want to hear my type of people, with short legs long torso tall guys reply how you guys are riding! thanks in advance

What are some good/cheap carbon wheels for road bike

I recently bought a bike without carbon wheels. But now i want to change it for looks and whoop sound.

I see carbon wheels going for $1,200 at bike shop which I think is too much, but I also don't want something of bad quality..xD I found out that Chinese wheels from AliExpress go for the $300–$600 price range. From what I've discovered, Chinese brands are now making better and more reliable carbon wheels at a much lower price point. Am I right about this? I want to know what you guys think.

And if so, what wheels do you guys think are good options at a lower price point that I would be happy with?

Fyi i have carbon sysnapse 4 with dt swiss alu wheels.

I see why people say dont cheap out on bibs.

I started doing 13mile trail weekend long rides(26miles) wearing the cargo bibs from 'The Black Bibs' from amazon but I started experiencing saddle sores and butt pain after long rides.

Today i switched to the Assos Mille GTS and did 12miles, and wow, what a difference. While I liked The Black Bibs, Assos is just different. The fabric is incredibly soft against the skin—almost like a second skin—and the chamois doesn't feel bulky like a diaper, yet it provides amazing comfort. If you're on a tight budget, investing in a premium pair of bibs is definitely worth it in my opinion. Highly satisfied.
