Success Stories: Adding Wellbutrin to Zoloft for Sexual Side Effects?

Hi guys!
I’m a 30-year-old woman, and I started taking sertraline (Zoloft) about three months ago. I’m now about to start Wellbutrin XL (bupropion) 150 mg in addition to Zoloft (sertraline) 100 mg, and I’d really love to hear from people who have had a positive experience with this combination.
For context: I have generalized anxiety disorder and I also do therapy. Sertraline has helped me a lot emotionally. I started at 25 mg and gradually increased to 100 mg. Overall, it has made my anxiety much more manageable.
The downside has been the sexual side effects. Ever since I started sertraline, I haven’t been able to orgasm during sex with my partner. I can still orgasm by myself, but after increasing to 100 mg it became much harder—even with toys. My libido itself hasn’t really changed; I still want intimacy and value it a lot in my relationship, but reaching orgasm has become very difficult.
I also feel more sleepy on sertraline (I take it at night because of that), and I’ve become less motivated. I’m not depressed or unable to function, but I definitely feel less driven than I used to.
Another thing is that I’ve gained about 3 kg (around 6–7 lbs) since starting sertraline.
Years ago I took bupropion by itself during a depressive episode. It worked really well for my energy and motivation (the “honeymoon phase” was great), but it also made me feel quite anxious and jittery.
So now I’m wondering:
Did adding Wellbutrin help reverse the sexual side effects from sertraline, especially orgasm difficulties?
Did it improve your motivation and energy?
Did anyone lose the weight they gained on sertraline after adding bupropion?
What should I realistically expect during the first few weeks?

I’d especially love to hear positive experiences because I’m feeling hopeful but also a little nervous about starting it.
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone switched from sertraline to Brintellix because of sexual side effects?

Hello, due to the sexual side effects from sertraline, I’m unable to finish during sex, and I’m thinking about switching to Brintellix. I’m going to talk to my psychiatrist about it. Has anyone here already made this switch?

Today I completed one month taking Zoloft. In the first week, I started with 25 mg, and in the following three weeks I took 50 mg. Overall, the experience has been very positive: I noticed improvements in my social anxiety, general anxiety, fear, and I feel calmer.

On the other hand, I have been feeling very sleepy. My doctor had prescribed taking it in the morning, but I switched to taking it at night because of this. Even so, I am sleeping a lot during the night and still feel sleepy during the day. In addition, I lost interest in going to the gym and started eating a lot, much more than before.

Today I had an appointment with another psychiatrist, not my usual doctor, who I will only see again in a month, and she increased my dose to 75 mg. I would like to hear from people who have taken this dose: regarding appetite and energy, did it improve for you?

Will this increase be good for me? I would like to hear people’s experiences.
