Strawberry legs???

Y'all. Idk where else to post this bc of minor restrictions and stuff with posting in other subs, but I hoped some of yall would know.

My legs have really tiny purplish-pinkish spots on them, and they've been like that for as long as I can remember. I've heard it called strawberry legs but idk if that's an actual term for it or not. But does anyone know how to make it less obvious??? I dont mind it too much but I don't really like it yk? I think if I could get a tan it wouldn't be so noticeable but I'm a redhead so I can't tan lol. I also have keratosis pilaris (according to my mom, and supposedly my dad also has it) and idk if that is related in any way.

Any advice would be appreciated! Have a great day!!! <3

Green? Blue? Gray?

My eyes have always been bright blue until the last couple of years. I say they look green now, but in some lighting I see hints of a slight brown tint?

Lemme know what yall think. The last 2 are with flash, the rest are natural lighting.

Middle ground of these aesthetics and what would this look like as a summer aesthetic/style?

Here's my problem...I am all of these aesthetics rolled into one, but depending on the day, it's one extreme or another. I don't mind having so many distinct aesthetics incorporated into my style (mostly talking abt my clothes, my bedroom, and my artstyle lol). However, this means that clothes-wise, since I try to have outfits within each style, I have way too many clothes lol. I'm looking to downsize my closet this summer and need help finding an aesthetic that fits as a middle ground between all of these? If possible I would like something that has an actual used name, so I can use it when I try to find inspo online and stuff, but anything remotely close would be appreciated.

Also, this isn't a main concern, but I've declared that I'm not going to be a hermit this summer. But I don't have any actual summer clothes. If there's any way to find this style as something more suited for summer, I'd appreciate that as well. Like I said, I could figure this part out on my own, but why not ask for others thoughts lol. But thank you so much for reading if you've gotten this far 😂 I'll take any and all suggestions into account <3

Intro bc idk lol

Hello :) I had thought abt making a post here but I saw a lot if people doing introductions so I thought I might do that first 😭

So... I'm 16, not great with social interactions, and rather kind, I'd say. I'm the equivalent of the awkward, shy kid that miraculously never gets bullied at school. That's me in a nutshell lol I'm only outgoing when I'm around my bsf (she's rather extroverted lol)

I consider myself Baptist, although I gotta work on that. That's something that's very important to me.

I love to draw/sketch, crochet, occasionally read, and write. I'm actually working on a writing project and considering a second one.

Ngl I'm mostly here to post random things/ask for random advice. A lot of places don't ever exactly fit what I post so why not join here where there aren't so many boundaries? 😭 but really, I'm not the most social so most of my posts will be asking for advice or ranting abt random things lol.

Anywho, thanks for reading. You'll surely see more of me sooner rather than later 😂

Surprise From A Dream

This might be the wrong place to put this, but I just woke up, and I had a dream that I thought would make a good surprise for someone, maybe a younger girl more so.

In this dream I had been having some rough days. I woke up and went into the bathroom, and there were dimly lit fairy lights up all of the walls and the ceiling. As someone who loves dim lighting and fairy lights, it was gorgeous.

I wouldn't suggest doing this in a bathroom lol but maybe in a bedroom or hallway, or outside in a little tangle or trees (that would look magical at night). Just an idea, but it might go well paired with an actual small gift or something.

Would this kind of book actually be interesting??

Hello! I didn't intend to post 2 things so close together about "would you read," but I had an idea I wanted to get opinions on if possible.

I've grown up in a very rural area, with large families on both sides, and as you know, that's created many hilarious, emotional, and unique memories for us. The idea crossed my mind to write a small/medium length book full of stories I can remember, and I considered even maybe getting my grandparents to tell me stories so I could dedicate sections to them and their lives. Not like an autobiography or biography, more just like a compilation of short stories about the unique things in the world I've grown up in.

Do you think this would reach very far or at least be an interesting read for someone who tried it out? Lmk what you think.

Need help finding routine and hair cut for my hair

Here's the deal y'all.

My hair has been straight until the last few years, where it has suddenly gotten idea to go wavy/curly. I would love to encourage the waves, and curls if possible (some parts curl) but I'm having a hard time finding a way to do so. I don't have the extra money to buy any specific products, maybe one or 2 cheap ones, but I wouldn't know what to buy anyways. I've tried mousse and gels before, and different brushes and combs, but they've not done anything, if not made it fall more oddly.

I have to be careful because I have oily hair, and will get bad dandruff and sores if I don't use certain shampoos. I currently use 2 different shampoos: garnier honey treasures, and head and shoulders 2 in 1, for those reasons respectively. The conditioner I use is just various cheap suave ones. I usually brush it before I shower, about an hour after I've showered, and of a morning before leaving the house. I sleep with it down, usually letting it dry as I sleep. I had been using a cheap bonnet but it made my bangs dry in a way that was a pain to deal with of a morning, so I quit using it. It has more waves without wearing it. I often wear it in a loose braid or bun during the day, just to keep it contained, but otherwise it's just left down.

I've always kept it long, and usually only cut it once a year before school. Since I got it cut last (almost a year ago) I've kept my bangs trimmed and blended into the rest but let the main part grow. My hair is considerably thick and heavy and I think that mostly weighs it down and keeps it straight, because the shorter pieces wave more. I can't cut it any shorter than the middle of my back, so I just have to work with the long hair.

I don't want to force it to be wavy, but I would at least like to give it a shot. If you have any suggestions at all I'd be thrilled to hear them. Thank you so much!

(First 3 pictures are right after showering, and scrunching with a towel. Next 3 are about 30 mins.—1 hr. after showering, having been left down. Last is what it looks like dry and down, brushed once dry)

Would you read??

Hellooo! So I've been working on my current WIP for about 8 or 9 months now, and I've not shared much about it to anyone except my mom. I would like to know if other people our age would be interested in a story like this, and if there are any critiques as to what I should do. I would like to preface this with an apology for such a long post btw 😭 But here is the plot summed up:

It's late 2070s and many scientists have been monitoring and exploring a far away planet. The planet became well known for being very similar to Earth, and visually appealing (most natural colors are different than the ones on earth). These same scientists also have noticed that the health of the earth has hit a sharp decline, and it's likely that the planet wont last much longer.

So all teens that live within a certain distance of the Space Center between the ages of 14 and 19 have their names put in two large containers. Think hunger games style name drawing, although that wasnt the inspo for that lol. Their names are drawn to be sent to this new earth-planet. One girl is drawn (Chrys) and one boy (Blue). Ages 16 and 17 respectively. Legally, they are now required to go, with no opting out. Neither of them are too overjoyed about it, but they arent completely upset either, because they both have slightly crappy lives (something very common in the recent years for the earth).

So within the next two months, they are given basic information about where they will be and what they will do. Things like: they will be the only people there, most wildlife is harmless, there have been crews sent within the last year to build a large house for them and future residents, and the only remaining contact they will have with the people on earth is regular schedules of things being shipped to them, like food and clothes and other needs. Then they are sent to the planet, to basically give a new start to human life, in a place that isnt dying.

However, they soon run into a dilemma. They are, in fact, not the only people on this planet. There is an entire functioning civilization not too far from their new home, and many others far away. They slowly become welcomed into the community, and are told that the scientists from earth actually did know these people were here, and were even teaching the nearby residents english for the last few years so they could communicate with the "future visitors."

The nearby community is set up similarly to a typical kingdom, but the family in ruling is much more interactive with the people, and it is a very small, close knit place. Except for the royal family ofc.

They only have one child, Eviah, and he is 16. Soon, he will be 17, and he will take the place of his parents on the throne. Eviah is the first to become close friends with Chrys and Blue, and even has an almost-relationship with Chrys.

But the kingdom is on the verge of war with another kingdom, and Eviah's parents get killed in an attack from the opposing kingdom, forcing him to the throne many months earlier than had been planned. The next dilemma is that within this kingdom, the king must have a queen to rule legally. Eviah, being 16, doesnt have a wife to become queen. So he is now forced to find a queen before a two week time frame is over (when he gets the official title of king).

Instead of choosing someone from his community though, he chooses Chrys, because being on the throne with someone new, and someone from a different planet at that, would symbolize things like alliances, an open and warm kingdom, etc. U get the idea. Chrys refuses to be his queen though. So he sends guards to bring her to his home, and gives her no choice. Blue tries to prevent this, but in the process "assults" eviah (punched him once, in Chrys's defense) and Eviah obviously doesnt like that. And he sees that blue will be a problem in his plans. So he drafts Blue into the attack he has soldiers training for, sent in retaliation for his parents being killed. The rest of the book is just Chrys struggling with trying to escape eviah's control, blue surviving on the battlefield, and both of them trying to reach each other.

Eviah gets killed by being cocky and going to the battlefield himself. That means that Chrys is now the queen and the sole ruler of the kingdom. This is amazing in itself due to other factors I dont feel are relevant to mention here, but now she has the power to command for blue to be sent back home. She does just that. She is also given a short time frame to find a new king, and she chooses blue to rule with her, which the community loves, because they adore the "new kids", as the people call them occasionally. The story will go on into a couple more books, but that is how the first one ends, is with blue returning and them beginning rule together.

So let me know what you think! Again, sorry the post is so long! 😭

Bead Decor Inspo

I've never posted here so if this is the wrong sub to post in, please redirect me!

So, I got a burst of summer cleaning energy, and decided to go through my entire craft shelf and organize it. I was also looking for things I could use to create decor for my room. I'm hoping to revamp it a little this summer.

I found some strings of beads that were my grandma's before she passed, and I would like to use them to decorate something but I don't know what. There are 8 of them, all circular, and if I cut them, the beads will fall off. They're about the length of a medium/long necklace and the beads are rather small, all pearl colored.

I'm anxious to use them because they were from my grandma's craft supplies and I'd like to not waste them and actually make something useful with them. I was thinking something along the lines of something for curtains or a lamp shade or something I could hang on my ceiling. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

(This is one strand of the beads, for reference)
