I'm learning how to express myself creatively. On my birthday, I decided to go buy a gallon of paint and see what I could do with our guest bathroom. I finished two coats of paint and paused.

• I'm not 100% on this color, SW Insightful Rose, maybe I should've gone a shade darker? For reference, lightbulbs are set at 3000k.
• Should I drench the ceiling in the same color? Different color? Wallpaper the ceiling?
• Are the shelves in the right spot? Keep or swap shelves?

I plan to add crown moulding, arched mirror, and change the shower curtain for something blue/green. I used Rustoleum brass paint on the fixtures.

This is Obi. Obi eats undies and paper towels. I didn’t get pet insurance. Don’t be like us, learn from our mistake.

Obi is 1yo, 73lbs, and has a history of chewing undies. On 2 occasions, we’ve seen bits come out in his poop and had a laugh about it. Made a point to do a better job of managing the dirty laundry and moved on with our lives. You know where this story is going.

Monday - he was being naughty bc he thought we were going for a walk and didn’t. He was getting into the trash to retrieve toilet paper roles and paper towels.

Tuesday - vomiting, saw bits of paper towel and assumed the issue was resolved.

Wednesday - vomited, refused to eat breakfast and wasn’t drinking water 🚩🚩. As the day progressed I noticed his belly was firm and looked a bit distended.🚩 I took him the vet.

We elected to having imaging and bloodwork done. Obi had ingested something long and “fabric-like” that was snaked in his small intestine. I assumed it was paper towel or undies. The vet recommended surgery and referred us to an emergency vet that could perform surgery to retrieve the item for $5000-$6000ish. At this point it was past 6pm. Since I was going to have to take him to a different Vet for surgery, I opted to take him home while I called around to surgical Vets. Meanwhile, Obi drank water and wasn’t severely dehydrated. I found a reputable vet that could do a payment plan and planned to take him for surgery first thing in the morning.

He was obviously not feeling well during all this. I was very worried and kept watch overnight, checking his belly for changes and listening closely for any sounds of vomiting. I was ready to rush him in if needed.

Suddenly, at 4am he got up and started wagging his tail! He wanted to go potty. I walked him with my flashlight, he finally pooped out two of my underwear. I’ve never been so happy about poop in my life. No expensive obstructed bowel surgery!

He’s doing better now. We signed up for pet insurance. I hope someone somewhere benefits from this story.

Thank you all for your input on the layout! I really enjoyed making this one. The pattern is free with videos and was easy to memorize. I liked being able to take this project along with me and work on it.

I’m stuck! How should I layout this Sunburst Granny Square blanket?

I started with the blue/pink Loops & Threads Facets yarn for sunbursts. Original plan was going to do the whole blanket in this color BUT the facets yarn is problematic to work with… varies in thickness throughout the skein, breaks, etc.

I pivoted and used a complimentary blue and pink from my stash. Now that it’s all laid out, I’m having commitment issues.

Should I:

1. Use all three colors of sunburst?
2. Use the facets blue/pink sunbursts with the blue sunbursts?
3. Make just the blue sunbursts blanket?

Other ideas?
