I'm not sure where to vent this: I found out a Soldier whom I was stationed and friends with was caught in a CP sting

I had known this guy for my entire four years stationed there.

We met in the barracks CQ when I was a PFC and he was a SPC; I was brand new to the unit. Despite being in a Team Leader role and being surrounded by "old school" NCOs, he was eager to help out any Soldier regardless if you were under his leadership or not.

I watched him progress to CPL, SGT to SSG (post PCS and reclass), strive and overcome challenges. The Soldiers whom he helped were all by his side during these promotions. We kept in contact years post my PCS, but communitcation dwindled by early 2023 and he went almost silent later that year up to this point.

Today, I had learned through a friend that he was caught in a CP sting amongst a group of men. It hits very hard when it is someone you know, looked up to and would have never thought they would commit this despicable act.

All I can say, SSG E: Rot in prison and in hell, you pathetic shit.

Appealing a ban under a new mod team?

For the record: I am not banned in any sub, it's just a question.

This question was inspired after reading about a particular sub that had gotten an entire new mod team, they repealed thousands and thousands of bans with most of them being frivolous. They also said that anyone who was banned previously that they were overlooked can apply for an appeal.

Now, I wonder if a redditor was banned from a sub and that mod team had all resigned and/or been replaced, would it be a good idea to submit an appeal?

Any vets here still maintain their fitness?

I've been out since last October. A couple of vets at my school said that I was insane for actively maintaining my fitness.

I just don't want to get fat again. I still go to the gym, go for walks and hikes and eat nutritously, while splurging sometimes.

I guess after seeing my friends ETS and retire within the last four years, some of them had inflated like today's economy. I had spoken to two of them: one had developed sleep apnea last year after putting on 30 pounds the other tested for high blood pressure.

Since I had gotten out, I have lost about ten-ish pounds.

Can I get a chocolate flavored protein shake?

Bill aims to make military hazing a separate criminal offense

I got this link from Facebook. The comments there are horrible and disgusting, but what else can you expect from Meta nowadays?

Are there really scholarships that require you to have straight As?

I have a friend freaking out because he barely passed his final and it brought his grade down to a B (89.2).

I guess he has some scholarship that requires him to have all As, but Bs are an instant DQ.

To me, that seems insane.

Army aviator who hid behind dating profile alias convicted of rape

One of my friends knows him and was shocked when he found out about this because they had met and trained a lot together. I hope he suffers.

For context, I am a single +25 year old with a net worth - after retirement and liabilities taken out - of < $27k.

My FAFSA has been in limbo since the start of the year due to me initiating Professional Judgement for income reduction.

After a month had past since my last action by uploading my 2025 tax transcript, today, I was requested to fill in my savings and net worth.

After spending nearly 10 minutes of figuring it out and excluding retirement accounts, I filled in my numbers.

I wanted to ask how much has your savings and net worth affected your SAI so I can know what to expect with the changes?

Scary how they happen, but they do.

I had one on Tumblr. I made my account in 2015, but the stalker started in 2020.

Their MO was making accounts, harass and insult me, delete their account and reappear days, weeks and a month or more later.

The craziest part: they kept on sending me nudes of different men and women.

After nearly five years of them doing this, I deactivated my Tumblr. On suggestion, I was told to report the nudes to Cyber Civil Rights and I did. The last update that they were trying find and contact the people in the images.

What are yours?
