Question Regarding Om Swamiji's Narration of the Yajurveda Lineages naratted during Sri Rudram sadhana

Pranam,

I attended the 11-day Sri Rudram Sadhana conducted by Om Swamiji and later created a video based on the notes I took during the Sri Rudram sadhana.

In the sadhana, Swamiji narrated the story of Yājñavalkya, Vaiśampāyana, the Tittiri birds, and Kāṇva, explaining the split of the Yajurveda traditions. I included that narration in my video.

Recently, a viewer commented that the Kāṇva Śākhā belongs to the Śukla Yajurveda and is associated with Yājñavalkya, while the Taittirīya tradition comes through Vaiśampāyana's disciples. Online sources also seem to say this.

Can someone clarify how this should be understood in relation to the story narrated during the Sri Rudram Sadhana? Is there a traditional source or explanation that connects these accounts?

Thank you.

Who actually created this category of Hindu scripture?

I Encounterd the video which explains how hindu scriptures are organised. But I tried to search for the source and who organised this way, but could not find an answer. So posting it to you. https://youtu.be/qRLiH0fsFFQ?si=fIozeYQ1n4xE2_WZ do you know the source of this information?. I found similar one from Swami shivananda but want to know the actual source and who created this first.

My First Srichakra drawing

Have you ever tried drawing a Sri Chakra (Shri Yantra)?

It took me an entire day, along with rulers, compasses, and other drawing tools, just to complete this one. That experience made me wonder: How did the ancient sages construct such a geometrically precise Sri Chakra centuries ago?

By the way, does anyone know the earliest historical evidence or archaeological record of the Sri Chakra?

I know my drawing is far from perfect. But I approached it the way a little child draws a portrait of its mother—with devotion, love, and sincerity rather than technical perfection.

After finishing, I realized that I had missed the three concentric lines of the Bhupura (outer square enclosure), so I still need to correct that. If you notice any other mistakes or inaccuracies in the geometry, I'd be grateful for your feedback.

Consolidated Sri Rudram lineage and story as Om swamiji narrated

I recently prepared a summary chart on the lineage of Sri Rudram / Shatarudriya, and wanted to share the essence here.

According to this tradition, Lord Vishnu first composed the Shatarudriya as a stuti, which the Devas chanted to please Lord Shiva. Maa Parvati later gave this knowledge to Skanda, and Skanda gave it to Jaigishravya. From there, it passed to Kashyapa and Atri.

Kashyapa invoked it for prāyaścitta, while Atri invoked it to protect Surya from Rahu. Later, the lineage continued through Vasistha, Shakti Muni, Parashara, Veda Vyasa, Vaishampayana, and Kanva Rishi. Kanva eventually preserved it within the Taittiriya Samhita.

Other sages and figures received or invoked Sri Rudram for different purposes:

Kashyapa, Gautama, Narada, Durvasa, Mandavya, and Kanva invoked it for prāyaścitta.

Atri, Pulaha, and Pulastya invoked it for the welfare of the world.

Devala invoked it for siddhi.

Devaratha practiced it with pure devotion to worship Shiva’s bow.

Ravana chanted it to receive Shiva’s Atma Linga.

In our time, this entire research and sadhana lineage was compiled and revealed by Om Swamiji, and I have collected the stories of this entire lineage along with scriptural references and sources.

I made a detailed video explaining the story behind this Sri Rudram lineage here:

https://youtu.be/u6rmXeC1Mpg

This video is not a literal word-by-word meaning of Sri Rudram. It focuses on the story behind each mantra, the sages who invoked it, and how this sacred stuti became a living mantra tradition.

Complete trace of Sri Rudram Lineage and its history

The Hidden Meaning of the Siddhi Devatas in Sri Chakra

The Siddhi Devatas of the Trailokya Mohana Chakra are often mistaken for supernatural powers. In Sri Vidya, they represent profound capacities of consciousness itself.

• Anima – the power to enter the subtlest essence of existence.

• Laghima – freedom from the heaviness of limitations and conditioning.

• Mahima – expansion into vast, universal awareness.

• Ishitva – divine sovereignty; mastery over one's inner nature.

• Vashitva – the power of harmonization, bringing energies into alignment.

• Prakamya – the ability to manifest a pure and unwavering intention.

• Bhukti – the capacity to fully experience and enjoy life as Divine Grace.

• Iccha Siddhi – perfected will, aligned with the Divine Will.

• Prapti – attainment; the ability to reach what is truly needed.

• Sarva-Kama-Siddhi – fulfillment through inner completeness rather than endless desire.

These Siddhi Devatas reside in the Trailokya Mohana Chakra, the outermost enclosure of the Sri Chakra. Their placement teaches a profound truth: even the greatest powers and attainments are only the beginning of the journey. The seeker must move beyond power toward the ultimate realization of the Divine Mother at the Bindu.

Can women do rituals and go to temple during periods?

What is your take on this topic? Why did this taboo really start? I’ve heard many explanations, but none of them satisfactorily explain why women were discouraged from doing sadhana or visiting temples during menstruation.

The more I researched, the more uncomfortable truths seemed to emerge. Some people argue that these restrictions were originally meant to protect women from men during a vulnerable time. I’ve also read claims that women were discouraged from bathing, combing their hair, or participating in normal activities during those days.

I’m curious about the historical and social reasons behind these practices. Were they primarily religious, cultural, health-related, or connected to the social conditions of the time?
