Got some problems with my ST…

2021 Ford Explorer ST

Due to some circumstances beyond my control, this car has been sitting most of the time for almost one and a half years. I have my stepfather started it and driven around a little every week. And now I finally got it with me. Send it to the repair shop have it replaced brakes and tires, did an oil change, inspected. So today is my first day got it back since from June 2025, I noticed that the rear passenger side when the road is not very flat, I heard bouncing sound but it’s not really bouncing, the front driver side have some scratching noise(found out that my driver door is kinda loose, it might cause this problem, but I don’t know how to fix that). When I slowly accelerate from a stop, the car feels jerky, with a slight hesitation or a series of small jolts. The throttle response feels normal, and the car accelerates normally, but the acceleration feels uneven and not smooth. The last thing is the A/C is not working well, it gives me air but all hot air.

Does anyone have the same experience and is willing to share the solution? Pretty appreciated!

Recommend me the “first car” as a 19 years old

I’m a 19-year-old boy with bills. Due to some family issues, my bills are around between $1600-1900 per month. But luckily I found a job that pays me about $5000 after tax, so I’m able to save $1500-2000 per month.

To be honest, it wouldn’t be my first car, my first car is a 2018 Camry XSE that my mother bought me when I was 18, but I want to have a car that makes me happy (like fast or little aura or something, I’m a 19y boy, so you know, but i love my Camry) and wants to have passion.

My budget is within 10k (maybe a little bit over 10k?)

Prefer Germany car or American car

I’m not crazy about horsepower and all that incredibly modifications, 400hp is more than enough for me and I want it to look nice and clean.

And the most important is reliability, I’m willing to spend money on maintenance and replacing parts due to its age, but please don’t break down at any time and throw me on the road.

Just a boy willing to spend some money and have some fun, paying thousands of dollars and still have to spend way more money than the car for a fix. To me it’s not worth it.

Please recommend to me what you would choose, I’ll be appreciated and grateful for all the advice!

Yea, I will keep my Camry as a daily if possible

Auto shop broke my side skirt when lifted it

So, on a peaceful afternoon, I went to an auto shop service department looking for an oil change. When I went to check my tires, I saw my car was lifted improperly.

Which y’all can see in the picture, my side skirt/rocker panel got a little bent and the paint was falling off, so I asked the manager “what happened here”, the manager called the mechanic who was working on my car to check this out, we all went silent, but I’m glad that the manger was been honest and admitted that was their fault.

So, I asked to the manager for a solution, he offered me to do the paint for free with another shop, or they can replace me with two new tires that are the same as I have.

Since I have bubbles on two of my tires, I took the deal with two brand-new tires, they got it done after the oil change. After that, I checked my side skirt again, it was not really bent. Probably, it’s just all plastic, just some scratches and a little paint fell off.

After I left the shop, I’m so confused about why they would offer me two brand new tires which cost $570 including everything and free hazard protection, instead of fixing my rocker panel.

Have I been tricked here?

Updates 7/22/2026:

So, based on the comment section, i felt kind of scared so I went to check the part that got damaged immediately💀

This is the picture where the damage was, can we tell if the rocker panel has been damaged or just the plastic?

Please don’t scare me💀
