Non-perishable snacks

I need some non-perishable snack ideas for kindergarten! Some necessities are easy to open and not messy. I currently pack z-bars but I feel like they have too much added sugar. Open to homemade ideas too, but would like convenience options too! Bonus if i can get them in bulk at Costco!!

Slurry seal street closure questions

I live on a cul de sac and got a flyer that they are going to do slurry seal on our street which will have the street closed all day. There’s a bunch of no parking signs in our neighborhood, even the main road, so can we park on the main street we know are not scheduled to get the road done that day? We have to leave for work/school multiple times throughout the day.

Ideas for ground cover

Looking for ideas for a front yard that has a giant mesquite tree with a large umbrella type branches so underneath gets very little sun. Minimal watering and upkeep also!

Curious how a ground cover would look, although I would need to create some walkways to the breaker box, a spot where my kids like to climb the tree, etc.

I would also like to include an agave plant and some totem pole type cactus and a large tree on the west side for shade.

Mesquite has definitely grown since this picture and most of the plants were pulled out beside the bougainvillea near the house, and the rock is all gone, so almost a blank slate!

Sewing machine - stitches different sizes

I have a Singer Talent and I’m sewing cotton to flex foam for the first time. It did fine for a while but now the top stitches are different sizes and the thread gets bunched up in the bobbin case. I changed the needle, rethreaded top thread, cleaned the bobbin case. Help please!

Beginning sewer questions need answers!!

- I want to make more bags, is getting continuous zipper with it? According to Wawak, it says you need zipper pliers to put a zipper end on it, but again it’ll most likely be for bags so probably not needed?

- I made a clothing set for my daughter but the inside is pretty messy with uneven fabric, threads, etc. what’s a beginner way to make it look cleaner?

- I got cotton fabric from hobby lobby and it’s pretty see through for clothes. What fabric is better for clothing? Basic clothing for kids so doesn’t have to be the nicest, just not see through to be able to wear out.

- I got sewology thread from hobby lobby but the thread messed up the entire project but coming loose off the needle when starting, the bobbin messing up, and just overall being very curly. I haven’t had an issue with other threads (really old thread from my grandmas stash) what brand is best(thinking of placing an order on wawak) and what type for general project?

Getting used to this schedule coming from husband working overnights. Summers coming up so kids will be home all day, but when school starts, I’m worried they won’t see him for 4 days out of the week.

Any tips on how to keep me sane is also helpful!

I’ve been cognizant of my A1c so much the past few years and it never seemed to budge, even with working out (light working out) and taking metformin. ChatGPT said that my low iron levels could affect A1c and I’ve been low since my last pregnancy, also where my A1c has been at the prediabetic level started. I’ve been taking the Thorne prenatal because we are trying for another kid and it has extra iron in it and wowwwww after a month I noticed a difference in energy but I also just got back my latest A1c and it’s dropped!! I was at 5.7 and now I’m at 5.1 (in a 3 month span) I didn’t get iron checked this time but will definitely be asking to, but have no doubt it’s increased. In this time I’ve also been working out a lot harder (lifting heavier weights) so I think both have played a huge role in it.

Now all I need to give it some time to see if itll help my hair loss!
