I dont want boom boom or anything sexual. My back is completely wrecked and the bed in my condo isnt doing me any favors. I was going to go to a place today that had Thai Massage for 300 baht but the lady’s sitting outside were making fun of my clothes while I was parking my motorcycle so I just put my helmet back on and went looking for another spot. Then I got in a motorcycle crash so I went home. I would still like to get a massage when Im healed up. Ive been living here nearly two months and havent gotten a massage yet because I have issues with people touching me so I want a professional place where they dont offer “extra” services. I live on Sukhumvit Road so I can get anywhere in the city pretty easily via bts or the motorbike when I get it fixed so location is no issue.

I went to MBK center and the one shop I found that said they had bootleg Onitsukas in my size were in-fact incorrect. I don’t care if the shoes are real or counterfeit I just want shoes that fit.

There was a police check point at an intersection. I was on a scooter with maybe 50 other scooters stopped at the intersection. Police walked straight to the person who looked most like a tourist and gave them a breathalyzer right there in the street without even having them get off their scooter.
It really happened, and I know it happened because the guy was me. Lesson learned, lower your face mask so they cant tell you are a farrang or just don’t drink and drive. When the officer saw me blow a 0.00 he looked shocked then smiled. I told him that I don’t drink alcohol and he was flabbergasted and just started laughing hysterically and told me to have a good night. No bribes, no search, no handing over documents. Im sure if I had any alcohol in my system things would have been different.

I just rented a scooter in bangkok for a week. Everyone I spoke to told me to avoid doing this as I would surely be scammed for damage on the scooter I didn’t cause or some other nonsense people who have never been to bangkok tell tourists because they are too afraid to leave their homes.

I used an app called Skoot to make the booking, and to upload photos of my passport and international Driver license and leave a deposit. There are multiple scooter and motorcycle sizes to choose.

I chose to have the scooter delivered to my condo in Bang Na. They arrived early to walk me through the ignition system and to take photos.

I had one minor issue with the side view mirrors but that wasn’t anything a couple 100 bht wrenches from Mr, DIY couldn’t solve. The Scoopy scooter they brought me was incredibly fast for its engine size and had an automatic transmission which was nice durring rush hour. In total for 4 days of use driving all over Bangkok i spent a total of 300 bht on fuel.

Since the scooter was delivered they include free pick up.

I will definitely continue to use them until I purchase my own scooter and recommend them to anyone I speak to that is looking to rent a scooter.

The scam usually involves a random person on the street approaching you and saying that your stomach is fat and that if you go with then to 7-11 or an herbalist they can get you something that will eliminate the fat. When you get to the herbal shop you are over charged for herbs that don’t do anything. Here is how I get them to leave me alone. When they walk up and point to your stomach and start telling you that you are over weight, point at their penis and tell them that you have a pill that will fix their small penis and that they should follow you or point and ask, “if you can shrink my belly why cant you enlarge your penis?”. This infuriates them and they will walk away immediately. Ive tried it at MBK center, khao san road, nana plaza, and it’s worked every time.

I just recently moved into a condo in Bang Na. It’s beautiful and the staff has been incredibly helpful. There is one gentleman that always inserts himself into every conversation I am trying to have with staff members. He attempts to translate and dominate the conversation and just ends up frustrating the person Im trying to talk to. From what I gather he is on the janitorial/maintenance staff and not a part of the actual leasing team. In the 6 days that I have been here he has interrupted and derailed 5 of the attempts Ive made to speak with office staff. I asked simply where do residents take their trash and he took it upon himself to derail the conversation and I never found out where the trash chutes are. He spent 45 minutes trying to tell the rest of the staff that i was looking for the pool and an application to rent an apartment.

I lost an AirPod at the pool and asked of it had been returned since the community has a social media app for residents and someone posted that they found it. He saw me talking to the staff and came out of his cleaning closet and once again miss interpreted everything. I had to just say Kha Pun Krap and walk away.

The language barrier is already difficult enough and myself and the rest of the staff are fine using google translate but this guy just wont mind his own business. How do I politely ask that he mind his own business or tell the rest of the staff that I would prefer it if he didn’t try to help?

I see the kid everyday and it’s kind of clear that he thinks he is more important than he actually is. I don’t want to be rude or disrespectful to Thai Culture but I would like to be able avoid people who may inadvertently affect my day in a negative way.
