Help with DIY CO2

Hi! I've done some research into CO2 and how it affects water parameters and how to try and adjust it to make it safe for aquatic life. I recently set up a diy CO2 injection mechanism using the yeast & sugar recipe and an air stone. I read that you need to keep an eye on the ph fluctuation and there will be a drop in ph. However, the complete opposite happened and no matter what I try to search I can't figure out why. Any insight or advice? I tried to differentiate when I was testing my ph (morning vs night) in the case that it was a result of off gassing at night time, but the result is roughly the same... I'm so confused and I just want to make sure my parameters aren't screwed over before I add any actual fish. Thank you in advance!

Tldr: ph supposed to go down with co2 injection, ph shot up instead? Help!

For specific parameters:

0 ammonia

Low nitrites

Low nitrates

Playing in Leaf Litter

This girl is my first betta fish and honestly just wanted to show off how playful and silly she is... You can clearly see she realized I was watching her at the end and she perks up. Still can't believe how sentient and intelligent these fish are and they STILL are still being sold in pathetic cups and left to die horrifying deaths in the hands of people who think they're "just a fish". I hope things will change and more and more people become educated on keeping these amazing pets.

What Are These?

Freshwater tank about 10 gallons, noticed these things croppingup on my rock, I can only find saltwater reef results, so hoping to get some insight 🤔

Betta photobomb at the end for tax.

Parameters are perfect,

0 ammonia

0 nitrite

Very little nitrate

I saw them appear after following a half dosage of Bacteri Ae for my tank and wondering if that's the cause.

Thanks!

[FT] - Garden Grove, CA Trading From Plant collection for aquatics!

Hi! Reposting this again with some updated inventory and pictures! I also forgot to mention I would be interested also in exchanging for aquascaping materials too ^^

I only recently got into aquatics, but have a fair collection of rare and high value plants that I have invested much time and care into over the past couple years or so!

I'm building a 29gallon community tank and looking to trade some of my collection and hopefully making more friends in the aquatic community if possible !!

I'm interested in any peaceful communal fish, neos, microfauna and any aquascaping rocks/driftwood, etc.

If anyone is into both plants and aquatics I have a large amount of aroids that I use in my own tanks! 💚

I also have some carnivorous plants that I'd be willing to part with, and I'll list my inventory below:

Carnivorous Plants

- Various Nepenthes sp. seedlings (can give exact species if necessary)

- Various pinguicula sp. (Certain ones I have exact sp. Others are undetermined)

- Various Venus Fly Traps

- Various Sarracenia seedlings (can also give exact sp.)

Aroids & More

-Alocasia (Dragon Scale, Frydek, Cuprea Red, Black Velvet)

-Monstera (Spiderman, Adansonii Albo, Thai Con, Creme Brulee, Lechleriana Variegated, Standleyana Variegated Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma Variegated (my fav plant btw!)

-Syngonium (T5, Albo)

-Philodendron (Black Cherry, White Princess, Golden Croc, McColley's Finale, Florida Beauty, Ring of Fire, Green Congo, Jose Buono,

-Aglaonema Commutatum Variegated

-Dieffenbachia White Beauty

-Snowbush (Pink&White foliage)

-Snow&Summer Jasmine (Pink&White foliage)

-Zz Plant prop pups (black raven & chameleon)

-N'joy Pothos

I noticed that the aquatics community highly prizes Pothos as a nitrate absorbing powerhouse, but many of the listed plants I have are just as efficient if not better at doing the same feat! You can expand and diversify your tank with more than just a regular Pothos plant while still keeping the same great nitrate absorbing powerhouse :)

I'm also happy to just talk about either aquatics or plants with people who would like to exchange information and learn more about plant care!

Hi! I needed some help regarding a young Thai Con I own that's been showing these blemishes. I can't figure out what the issue is, and I am worried for its health if I can't properly treat it... Thank you so much in advance!

Hi! I bought this plant a few months ago along with another one that's been growing leaves extensively, while this one hasn't really been thriving so I figured I'd unpot it to check on it and repot it with fresh soil. This is the first time I've owned fig plants so I'm unsure if this type of ball in the roots is normal? I'm worried it's some type of disease that I need to treat and would like some insight! I tried looking it up but I haven't found a definitive answer. Thank you in advance! I'm sharing a photo of the root ball and the leaves as well as a comparison of the two plants.
